As I was growing up the Hamburger Helper referenced here was a staple dinner and I loved it. Decades passed and i'd not made it for myself In all that time but decided to try it out for nostalgia sake. I was completely floored by how gross it was. it tasted so artificial that i couldn't believe i'd actually liked the stuff as a kid. I'm glad you put this up and am sure to try this.

It's great having been raised in the South basically knowing how to instinctively make fantastic flour gravy. A solid basic for much more complicated cooking.
I'd like to learn how to make Hungarian paprika chicken, and Filipino lemon chicken if you get a chance.

The technique of this dish is basically a guiso, a very cheap dish cooked in Argentina with inexpensive ingredients, to have a full meal with less money.
There are a lot of different versions online!

I learned hot to make hamburger stroganoff from a woman on a ranch. She used bacon ends and cooked the mushrooms, onions, and hamburger in bacon grease. Oh yeah: ) Happy cooking everyone!

Another certified probably too lazy to actually make it and will probably just pull that two year old hill country fair stroganoff mix out of the back of the cabinet classic

It irritates me a little too much that you use a tablespoon to stir. Can not some cooking spoon manufacturer take pity and send you a nice wooden spoon?

This is similar to the recipe I've been using, except I also add Worcestershire sauce and dijon/brown mustard. Delicious either way!

I always wonder if you can skip the mushrooms in these recipes. I want to make this but also don't want to end up in the ER.
