We re heading into the heart of fancy holiday dinner season, and while the main courses might vary, one thing these gatherings usually have in common is a basket of rich, buttery dinner rolls on the table. There are few dinner rolls as rich and buttery as the aptly named butterhorns. Gingersnap: CHEF JOHN. The thing that I just don't understand is that you take basically the same ingredients but these taste so much BETTER than plain little dinner rolls. must be the rolling rolling rolling in ind! The other thing I don't understand is why I can't understand is WHY I CANNOT find a video that you did narrating a video about a Kitchen Chuck Box for camping. I commented that I recognized the voice and you gave me a thumbs up. I really wanted to watch it again. Help

Chef John.
You should do a creamy version of Bean with Bacon soup. Delicious soup for the cold time of the year. My Mom used to make it for us when we were little (using condensed canned soup. She used milk and half and half instead of water and cooked it very low and slow until it was nice and thick and soul filling.
Since then, sometime in the mid 2000's, Campbells changed something and now for some reason half of their cans of Bean with Bacon Soup have a horrendous copper flavor that cannot be overcome by adding garlic, salt, and pepper.
It is served best with a nice grilled cheese sandwich.

You should make my favorite cookie, almond horns. Made with almonds and almond paste, dipped in dark chocolate. I was thinking I'd like to try making them with dried cherries or cranberries to make them even healthier and more delicious. You know you want to make them. You can adorn your horn anyway you wish.

Excellent video Chef John and, as always, I enjoyed it (sounds like a BUT coming. But, I m calling you out on Fake News. Did the hook em horns REALLY originate from the bakers or did you make that up for commentary? I googled that. Did you waste my time (or maybe I m to blame for being gullible!

I'm going to try making these. I'm a newish baker and don't often wade far into the pool; I'm also lazy. Anyone here tell me why separating an egg yolk from the white in this recipe is truly necessary? It's just one egg, can't I chuck in the whole thing or will including the white cause a problem?

At first I thought it was a joke, but no, all of your videos sound like you're riding a rollercoaster and it is terrible to listen to for even the shortest length of time.

Lol, when I make bread, it's usually in 5 lbs batches. Kneading it is not relaxing. I have a family of 7 at home. Depending on what I make, usually a baked sandwich, there generally aren't leftovers. Teenage boys.

Always amazed and inspired by your vids. As it is, your Detroit Pizza recipe has become my Go-To for pizza. Your pie crust, your cornbread, they've all become my staples. I can't wait to make these rolls.

Frankenmuth, Michigan - Little Bavaria German version of Butter Horns is the same process but stuffed with caramelized brown sugar and finely chopped walnuts nestled inside the horn. Super crazy yummy!

I could eat these at every meal, every day. I am a bread man. I love warm buttered bread. Breakfast with jelly. Lunch with a salad and dinner with meat and gravy. Pass the rolls please.
