Chef, John, I can't believe you are still doing your videos here! Makes me very glad, you are still a fortress within fast pacing trends! Although I think I might have seen some of these recipes from you. It was me, who was away for a while, but I am back listening to your soothing and encouraging voice. Thank you!
3: 11 But. nutmeg really is very tasty if you can just about taste it in the potatodish. But maybe your videos aim at people who tend to think more is always better Maybe instead how about just an idea of italian hard cheese Maybe

I watch a lot of your videos. not all of them, but a lot BUT I will NEVER scroll past a potato video!
Potatoes are amongst life’s greatest gifts, and for me, ESPECIALLY the glorious and majestic Russet!
If I was dropped on a deserted island and told I could have only one food for the rest of my days, it would, without hesitation, without qualm, without reservation be The Potato (que Samwise Gamgee now)

Thank you chef! Next year I tripled the quantity of potatoes i'm growing in the garden. Its such an amazing and nutritious vegetable. I harvested mine in october and they are still looking better than those bought at the grocery. Grow potatoes folks! And beans, you can't go without beans.
PS Thank you for the multiple laughs in this video. You are very funny. Big fan.

Can confirm Chef John's version of tartiflette is insanely good. I made it when the video was released and it was devoured and went straight into the rotation. Potatoes are hard to prepare so they taste bad but this really was one of the most indulgent and comfort foodiest potato dishes I've ever tried.

Excellent videos for this list! Though I wish you'd included Potatoes Romanoff, since they need a bit more love in my opinion. They are far and above my favorite potato recipe you've shared! People ask for them alllll the time, you made me a star with those!

You remind me of home. I swear. I listen to you growing up. Your voice it sounds like home. It warms me. It wraps me up in a blanket. And hands me my favorite most tasty treats. You are nostalgia wrapped up with much of my love and attention.

My dad loved scalloped ham and potatoes so much, it was the first recipe he got my mama to teach him to make when he took over cooking duties from her! He would eat if 2 or 3 times a week unless mama complained and we always used the fresh nutmeg.

18: 20 - I remember using my mandolin without the safety grip and misjudged how quickly it cut. Ended up slicing a bit of finger. Fortunately it grew back but I would never use a mandolin without a grip.

Only real meaningful difference for the tartiflette is I put over twice the amount of onions and get them to the point of caramelization, very regularly de-glazing with the white wine.

My favorite is the fondant potatoes! I think it was your recipe I made a couple of times. Delicious! These all look yummy too.

my god. i remember when you first posted your tartiflette video and wanting to make it. dumb america with their dumb cheese rules.
