At most high end restaurants where they don’t reheat packaged foods and make everything by scratch, it’s very common practice where the chef will actually taste what he cooks to ensure quality control and to ensure everything came together properly. That’s why it’s important to at least taste the main flavor of the dish before cooking it in. Even if it’s dipping a toothpick in and giving it a taste. Idk why people act like this is indecent.

I admire Chef John & have been actively following for years now.
As my diet has become healthy and life promoting, meaning very low carb, there are very few recipes I can use now.
Nevertheless, the techniques taught are superlative and I will always use those.
Thank you Chef John!

Perfect recipe! Love chicken, apples, and broccoli! And, I today I bought chicken thighs! But I don't have shallots just onions. And, I don't have apple cider but do have lemon juice. If lemon juice were used what vinegar pairs with it white distilled, balsamic, or rice vinegar

Please YT stop using your parent company's translator to translate titles into local languages. You again failed miserably, as always. What is Apple Cider Chicken in the original American English is called chicken (made) from apple cider in the translation used for my area.

Ever try pork chops with Boiled Cider/Cider Syrup For that matter, ever try making this sort of sauce with that pre-reduced cider I have some I might try someday, but I prefer it dribbled over pork as a sauce on it's own.

Must be getting old, I was acutally looking more forward to the recipe for the roasted vegetables.
Yes, I know how to make them, but having Chef John go first is usually enough to make me actually make the food: )

Because after all, there are no excuses to forget the accumulated juices////only thing I’d add to this, when you pull chix and add butter Add a half tsp of allspice and a couple cloves

I am the You Tube commentor that demanded Chef John sign the contract to take pictures of his dishes.
He is living up to his end of the bargain.

Looks tasty for sure, thinking I would add some hard cider and a wee bit of cream, but that’s just me doing me. Thanks John for another delicious recipe.

Why does this guy speak the way he does. Can't even get through a video without wanting to rip my ears off. Makes good food though.

You may be the Jack Bauer of your chicken sweet and sour, but this simple and delicious looking recipe won't need 24 Hours.
