This recipe is my easy and delicious take on carne guisada. This Tex Mex style beef stew is tender and delicious. It goes great with a side of Mexican rice and homemade soft flour tortillas. INGREDIENTS 1 1/2 to 2 lbs beef stew meat 1 tomato 1/2 onion 2 cloves garlic 1 beef or chicken Knorr bullion cube 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp ground cumin (to your taste) 1/2 tsp kosher salt 1/4 tsp black pepper 2 tbls flour 2 to 2 1/2 cups water

Hi, Gochujang Mama I hope you and your family are having a wonderful new year! I have a question on this carne guisada recipe would it be necessary to add some meat tenderizer to the meat or the long-simmering is sufficient enough to tenderize the meat? Edited: Oh, I almost forgot if I want to make carne guisada con papas at want time in the cooking would I add the potatoes that they would not become too mushy, I'm talking about 1inch cubes.

I don't add salt until the end as it tends to toughen meat if you add it at the beginning. Your recipe is real Tex Mex. Here in the Rio Grande the recipe has changed in restaurants with the migration of people from Mexico it has changed I don't really like it so I make my own it's exactly like your recipe. That's how my mom made it and that's how i make it.

Awesome video/recipe! The only thing I did different was blended 1/2 of the bell pepper/onion/tomato and use the rest cubed. It was unbelievable good! I also used your tortilla recipe and they were fabulous! My first on both to be sooo good! I bought my chuck roast at my local HEB in Rosenberg, Tx. THANKS!

I wanted to contact you again regarding your carne guisada recipe. When I commented the last time, I told you how delicious I thought it was. After that 1st comment, I served it to my family, who went crazy for it! I ran out! From now on, I have to make it in double batches! Thank you again, Dear Gojujang Mama.

Hi. So this was the first time I tried making this recipe. I've always wanted to try it and I followed your recipe and it freaking came out awesome. My wife is very picky with carne guisada and she freaking loved it too. Thank you for this recipe. I'm very happy that I can make this now and it's on point.

This reminds me more of a stew so i tweaked it a bit in my kitchen added Potatoes Celery and carrots don't get me wrong I love cumin but wasn't feeling it for this dish so I added A bit of Cayenne pepper and oddly enough that stuff you blend to make mole along with A Oregano baysal and Parsley came out bom

It's a cold rainy day here in NC, my husband is outside fixing a fence. I made this for him to come in and warm up with and IT IS SO GOOD! Great comfort food, flavor that reminds me of home! (California) thank you so much. I definitely recommend this recipe everyone!

I've been cooking this recipe for about 2 months now and I can say that this is one of my wifes favorite meals for me to cook her. Only deviation from the recipe is that instead of water I replace with chicken or beef broth. Killer recipe, thanks for sharing!

I'm learning how to cook things outside of my comfort zone. I decided I wanted to try carne guisada. I'm not glad I not only found a mexican making it (lol) but somebody who actually called it a Tejano dish. I know you know what you're doing lol
