Today I am going to show you what I made my grandparents for lunch. My grandmother requested sopa de fideo with beef, so I had to make her some. Ingredients 5 oz (142 g) Vermicelli noodles 8 oz (227 g) beef steak meat 1 beef or chicken bouillon cube 1/2 small onion 2 cloves garlic 3/4 cup (177 ml) tomato pure 3 1/2 cups (828 ml) water salt and pepper to taste

One of my favorites from childhood. My mom and grandmother would use either round steak or ground beef but steak was used more often and it was perfect. They're both gone now but they did show my sisters and I how to make it. It's never quite the same though.
The comments about ways to do it differently make me smile and I'm sure they would work fine but there's no one single way to make this meal. I think the best way is the way you grow up enjoying it. If any of us would have suggested to mom or grandma a better or different way, they would have smiled and said That's not how I do it. Sit down and eat.
I enjoyed this video!

OMG I'm kind of famous for loving to make comfort-food-style soups and stews and these ones you have here are killer. Is the weather cooling off where you live? Because I'm in southeast Pennsylvania and this time of year I'm all soup soup soup gotta have soup soup soup. And I can totally relate because my sister and I both used to make my dad lentil soup in his last years and my sister once asked which he liked better and he wouldn't say. (Mine is better. I haven't had hers but it is): ) Anyway great content and keep up the good work.

Oh my grandma used to make this for me when I was feeling bad I made it a few times for her before she passed when I was in college. This is still my number one favorite comfort food of all time and every time I make it I think of my grandma. Now I know what I m having for dinner tonight. Thank you for sharing your love

I make this but after browning the meat, I add 1 tablespoon vinegar, the broth and allow to simmer for about an hour, adding more broth as needed.
I then toast the noodles in separate pan, add onions and garlic until softened, pour that into the meat and broth, simmer for 15minutes and enjoy

Hi that looks lovely however I would like to help you create a richer broth. Instead of starting with the beef, saute the onions and garlic and salt first then put the beef and let it create a crust and the add the water and scrape the fond off the bottom. Then everything else you did!

My 2 year old loves this. His granddad on his father's side remarried. And she's from Mexico. So I'm always at their house eating something lol. But my son will fight you about his sopa. And he wants his a little spicy

Great tip about toasting the pasta to preserve the texture! I hesitate adding noodles to soup because I don't like them bloated and soggy, so now I know how to prevent it. Thank you!

The last time I had Fideo was when my mom was still alive. She made the best. Unfortunately, I never got the recipe. Thank you for making this video now I can make my own,
