I've been craving some chicken and dumplings. The weather has turned so much colder and I'm on a soup kick. I love slippery dumplings (and hate fluffy dumplings) and I find making chicken and dumplings to be a relaxing endeavor that ends with everybody having a happy and full tummy.
I, too, like a creamier more stew-like broth. But, since it only my husband and I now, I make it a bit thinner just because the leftovers will be perfect the next day. If I make a thicker broth for the first night then next day's leftovers are too gloppy, and I have to spend time thinning it out and adjusting the seasonings to compensate. Too much work for leftovers!

Angelica, thank you for the recipes. I have tried some of them and I loved them. I am going to share something you will totally love. Mclibs Southern style dumplings. They are dried dumplings. I found them in the same isle where the pasta is. The best dumplings I have ever eaten. If you can t find them, get in touch with me and I will send you a box. Blessings.

Hi A! Would you believe I have never in all my years made this. My family liked Chicken Paprikash so. thats what I always made. I will have to try this one day. Everyone makes dumplings different. Your recipe looks tasty. Nice you made it brothy for your handsome hubby! Great Video my friend.

This is the recipe I've been waiting for. A few weeks ago my dad was trying to make chicken n dumplings with Bisquick drop dough dumplings and not getting the results he wanted. I've been wanting to make them with the flat dumplings, I like them better. Thanks so much.

Yep, it is usually half thawed chicken into the pot here, too. Yep, same dumplings, too. However, I'll toss in whatever leftover vegs or if there's a little baggie of frozen vegs into the pot to heat as the chicken is being shredded.

Hi Angelica. An easier way to make dumplings, is tear short strips of flour tortillas and drop into cooked chicken and broth while boiling. It will thicken as well.

If you like your broth creamy, just add some milk or cream to it after the dumplings are cooked and the chicken has been added back in.
