TRADITIONAL PERUVIAN FOOD - Mara Zuiga is a purveyor of traditional, time tested, and slow cooked Peruvian food. It was an honor to have a chance to go to her home-style restaurant, where she serves private Peruvian food experiences. #PeruvianFood #Lima #lomosaltado Chef Timour was telling me, typically when you have a Peruvian family meal, you have one or two of these main dishes - we had a whopping 7 main dishes in a row - huge Peruvian family style food. The food was incredibly good and I have huge respect for Mara Zuiga, her knowledge of Peru and its many ingredients, recipes, and culinary influences. We arrived for lunch, but Maria began cooking at 2 am 1. Peruvian tamales - Mara Zuiga is very well known for her tamales, and she comes from a family that specializes in Peruvian tamales. There were not just any tamales, they were made from different colorful ingredients, and colorful. 2. Arroz con pollo - Chicken with rice, this is a Peruvian food family favorite. 3. Aj de gallina - Another classic traditional Peruvian food, and a dish nearly everyone loves is Aj de gallina, a chicken stew. 4. Lomo saltado - Lomo saltado is a main dish that has direct Chinese influence, and yet its so mingled into Peruvian everyday culture. This stir fried beef was insanely juicy and tender. 5. Seco de Res - This is one of my favorite Peruvian food dishes, beef on the bone, stewed with cilantro until fall apart tender. It was incredible. 6. Rocoto relleno - This is a Peruvian dish originally from Arequipa, wonderful rocoto chili peppers, stuffed with meat and spices. 7. Juane - From the Amazon jungles of Peru, juane is a packet of rice and meat cooked in leaves, this time banana leaf. It was delicious especially with the cocona fruit garnish. Desserts: Tocosh - Cant get enough of this amazing fermented potato Arroz con leche - Rice pudding Mazamorra morada - Purple corn pudding It was an outstanding Peruvian food meal and a learning experience for me. These were some of the best home-cooked dishes Ive had and a meal in Peru that Ill never forget. Thank you to Mara Zuiga

Hello my name is Abrahan today I saw your food videos in Peru and I don't know what you read but I spent 2 hours stuck watching your videos. It is true there is no doubt that we have the best food in the world recognized worldwide but everything you ate in Lima and Cusco that is nothing the next time you are in Peru I would like to invite you to take a walk around Arequipa a quiet city, its historic center is so beautiful through its streets, especially its food, its drinks, its desserts, you will be overwhelmed with the Adobo. The chicha de jora that is very different from the purple wing you tried, our frozen cheese. We wait for you and I hope to see you soon and take a picture with you in the tuturutu (emblematic figure of the main square of the white city of Arequipa Peru). Hott chilii

At a fleamarket I bought for 2 a cook-book of peruvian dishes. After I tried the first recipe I fell in love with the peruvian food. When I celebrated my birthday last month with some bbq, I made some anticucho. Without knowing it was made of cowheart, my guests ate it all. :)I hope I can travel one day to Peru and visit the countryside, explore the cities and learn more about the culture.

If I can count the times he says wow after every bite, I think Ill be a millionaire besides that you can tell the flavors of the dishes is extraordinary. You should try and visit my country Monrovia, Liberia, the food there is different with it being a melting pot of surrounding countries cultural food with a twist.

I hate the guy in spectacle. He gives extra over acting expression after everytime he eats. I hv seen his expressions in most of the mark weins videos. He kinda try to copy mark weins expression but end up giving irritating expression.

The best food is homemade. Ms Zuniga treated you to homemade cooking and made you feel at home. My mother was the same with all my friends. Aji de gallina is my favorite. My mom used to make it for my birthday.

Combinado or as some Peruvians call it U y Alianza after two soccer rivals. La U being the Arroz Con Leche bc their jersey is cream and Alianza Lima being the Mazamorra bc their jersey is black
