Today we’re going on an ultimate Syrian food tour in Aleppo! Thank you to Rami from Syrian Guides: Aleppo Bab Al Ahmar - Located on the outside of Aleppo Citadel you’ll find this traditional Syrian restaurant that specializes in breakfast dishes. Rami and I had a breakfast feast to begin our day with some of the Levantine food classics like hummus and foul, and a special dish called Maamounieh. Total price - 250, 000 SYP ($16. 66) for everything After breakfast we continued to visit the Aleppo Citadel and Al-Madina Souq. Although so much was destroyed, it’s amazing to see that Aleppo is coming back to life, and people are rebuilding. Within the winding alleys of the market we tried a simple falafel, which was fantastic, but just a start to the next falafel we’d be trying later in the afternoon. We also visited an 800 year old soup factory at Jebeili Soap Factory and ate local Aleppo Syrian kebabs at Abu Dibo Kebab. Cordoba Restaurant - One of the greatest restaurants in Aleppo, Syria is Cordoba, famous for their Aleppo cuisine, and especially for serving of the best versions of Kebab karaz - Aleppo sour cherry kebab. Total price - 470, 000 SYP ($31. 33) for everything Amo Hamido Falafel - Next up we went to what is probably the most famous and popular Syrian street food spot in Aleppo, known for their giant falafel sandwiches! Price - 15, 000 SYP ($1) per sandwich Sujuk Sandwich - We continued on this Syrian street food tour in Aleppo to eat an Armenian sujuk sandwich, which was extremely tasty. Price - 17, 000 SYP ($1. 13) per sandwich Abu Hagob Restaurant - Finally we had a dinner at a legendary Armenian Syrian restaurant where they made a meal of many small plates to eat with arak. The kibbeh nayyeh, raw minced lamb and bulgur, was especially delicious. Total price - 250, 000 SYP ($16. 66) for everything Aleppo, Syria is and always has been a food capital of the world! Huge thank you to Rami, from Syrian Guides he arranged my entire trip to Syria. Get in touch with him for an amazing tour in Syria! Follow on

Unfortunately, in this video, you support the dictator Bashar al-Assad and the propaganda that claims this destruction is the result of a civil war rather than Assad's deliberate destruction of everything beautiful just to stay in power. Do you know that about two million people have been killed by his war machine Do you know that around 500, 000 people are detained and as good as dead by Assad's gangs Have you researched the atrocities committed by Bashar al-Assad with his tanks and planes in the city of Aleppo Have you tried to look into the barrel bomb weapons he used on cities Haven't you heard of the chemical massacres he carried out and for which he was condemned by the United Nations Unfortunately, the videos you made in Syria, where you walked over the destruction left by Bashar al-Assad with a smile and promoted the dictator's narrative, will remain a stain on your reputation.

Oh, man! I can barely imagine what these people might have gone through during a decade or so of war and subsequent devastating earthquake. it is beyond comprehension. I see how these people are eager to communicate with the outside world. It was a severe crime to tear down that castle citadel and 800 years old zuk(bazar. I was thinking how many people have been died on those streets
It takes a fraction of a second to tear down an entire town, while it won't be enough even a lifetime to rebuild
I could sense his stupor, oh, man, Syria has been at a crossroads for over 5, 000 years. One of the crossroads of the world's first civilization.
These people deserve all my admiration, empathy and sincere encouragement.

My beloved Syria, I believe it was in 2010 when I began following your struggles watching Al Jazeera and being a part of ows. Your people are beautiful, resilient and musicians. I have followed and it seemed like the world forgot. It's SO lovely to see that you thrive no matter what history challenges you with. My best to the protesters who sang in the street, the nightingale and the people still rebuilding. Sorry, long winded but deeply felt.

that is what i call history of culinary. other that day I watched a video of Tom roaming around London for find a good British breakfast, and what he gets is toast, canned beans, and a poached egg. I mean what a terrible food history. not judging them, but you loot so much of the world that you forgot to stale other country's cuisine and you guys called your country's cuisine the best in the world, what a shame.

Syria is the country that taught the Turks cooking and sweets and which taught the world agriculture and music. Syria is the oldest capital and city in the world. Syria is the cradle of civilizations and the beginning of the first civilisations. Syria, against which all countries stood. will return, stand and prosper soon.

DON'T BUY FOOD FROM the Kiosks in the street, IT IS DANGEROUS. I'm Syrian, I love our food. But these places are definitely filthy. only some famous restaurants are committed to some sort of cleanliness measures.

It's so beautiful how they rebuilt that market!
They really did a good job!
Syrians are amazing at building, Since everyone does that kind of work, So only the best manage to maintain their jobs!

The richest food in the poorest country, I think that gives an image how civil war effected those people so bad, even in America we don’t use that expensive ingredients

Mark is always so kind and respectful to the Syrian cultures and my most favorite food guide episode to watch. Thank you for showing the beautiful city of Syria series.
reply

If anyone is reading in Syria, please have the food preparers wear plastic gloves like they do in a lot of places. Handling food with their bare hands is unhygienic.
