Zong Pet Paloe ) is a famous restaurant in Bangkok that serves marvelous duck boiled in Chinese spices known as pet paloe. Get all the details here: I dont always have time to explore areas of northern Thailand, so when I have an opportunity, I always jump at the chance. One of the restaurants that had been on our to eat list, was Zong Pet Paloe, a restaurant thats famous throughout Bangkok, especially in the Lat Phrao area for their duck and goose. As soon as you reach the restaurant, youll know they serve duck, the glass cabinet at the entrance is always filled with a few birds waiting to be ordered. Many people just order take-away, and then dine on their duck and goose at home, but they also have a huge dining room sitting area for eating. I was excited. Of course, if you ever go to this restaurant, the first things that youll want to eat is their duck boiled in Chinese spices which is known in Thai as pet paloe. The duck came sliced on a plate, and sitting in a pool of the fragrant juices. I could really taste the beautiful spice flavor of five star anise, mixed with sweet soy sauce, and of the course the meaty succulent pieces of duck. Im not a huge fan of duck skin thats not crispy, so when its served in this way, I normally like the take off the skin and only eat the meat of the duck. Their version of duck was amazing, the meat was so tender, so juicy, and had so much incredible flavor to it. Along with pet paloe, I also couldnt resist ordering pet kra pao ) or duck stir fried with holy basil, garlic, and chilies. This time, the pieces of duck were deep fried first, and then stir fried along with oyster sauce, soy sauce, and the essential ingredients including the flavor enhancing holy basil. Again, it was an absolutely sensational dish, one that I would truly recommend to you if you ever eat at Zong Pet Paloe. Also on the menu, youll find a full range of other Thai Chinese dishes, most of them stir fried or duck based. One of the famous dishes they serve is Thai chicken soup, known in Thai as kha gai super. I have to be honest and say that chicken feet are not my favorite thing in the world, they dont taste bad, but theres just not much to them - theres no real meat to eat - its more of just a fatty skin. The soup was filled with about an entire flock of chicken feet, all swimming in a duck smelling soup, that smelled quite similar to our plate of duck. The soup itself was dangerously delicious, very nicely duck flavored, and it also was filled with chilies and slightly sour. The chicken feet, well lets just say they were chicken feet In addition to these dishes, we also ordered a simple plate of stir fried mushrooms, which turned out to be fantastic, and a plate of a Thai dish known as yam pla duk foo, which is a catfish fluffy salad served with green mango salad. I thought the food at Zong Pet Paloe ) restaurant in Bangkok was wonderful. The duck dishes, which they are most famous for, were definitely the best. But really all the stir fried dishes were excellent. If you are ever in the Lat Phrao area of Bangkok, this is a place that you need to eat at. Oh man, I looooooove how you enjoy the food. I am from germany and I am a really big thai food fan. I found a thai restaurant here in germany that cooks very traditional. Me and my friends go there every week and we love every bit of it. Here in germany it is not usual seeing anybody enjoy their food as open as you do and it really gives me joy and encourages me to savor every bit I eat a lot more than I use to do. Good food is just the best that life has to offer, for me =) Keep up your amazing videos, you seem like such a nice person I would love to have a meal with you: DBest wishes from Germany

Western palettes accept chicken feet if the eater lives low on the hog or chicken. peasant food across Europe. My dad cooked them in paprika chicken. we ate everything but entrails & tripe. Dad loved calf brain, people pay a premium price for it in upscale restaurants, I have never tried it. Acceptability of something as food depends on religion, superstition, availability of alternative food, social status, economics, and personal likes/dislikes. Bon appetite, Eat well.

Mark Wiens, Can you tell me if this is the typical Asian Cuisine for a family dinner in Thailand? In other words, in your experience is a Home Cooked Family Meal pretty much the same as the street food? Love ur videos and ur love for life. Namaste my friend.

I never understood why someone likes to eat chicken feet. I hate the little bones in the mouth to have. I have also seen chicken feet boneless. And the consistency of gels, is not very tasty. Duck Feet are slightly better, but I do not necessarily eat feet.

Love the cut out scenes towards the end, yup thats the reason chicken feet and myself don't go hand in hand, apparently though its meant to be good for your skin. Keep em coming mark, keep fighting off those flies: -)Bobby UK

Chicken feet are full of collagen. Collagen is good for your skin, hair, bones, joints, connective tissues. It's a good preventive measure against arthritis. It's anti-aging food. Great videos.
