Nomadic Matt and I went to a restaurant called Radna Yod Pad Sood 40 Years ( 40) in Bangkok to eat crispy pad see ew and fresh spring rolls. Radna Yod Pad Sood 40 Years ( 40) is a well known restaurant in the historical Phra Nakhon area of Bangkok, not far from the Giant Swing and from Democracy Monument. They specialize in a number of dishes, including radna, which is noodles and gravy, and also a dish of pad see ew made with crispy noodles. Poh pia sod ( ) - We started off our meal with an order of poh pia sod (, fresh Chinese style spring rolls. Radna Yod Pad Sood 40 Years ( 40) is one of those restaurants that attracts plenty of customers and so there are a number of other street food carts that set up shop on the outside of the restaurant so you can get drinks and snacks while youre waiting for your main food to arrive. One of the more well known food stalls sells fresh springs rolls. The rolls were some of the better ones that Ive had in Bangkok, but they were still a bit too sweet for my overall liking. The sauce had a tanginess like ketchup, and they actually used mustard on them too. Bamee krob pad see ew talay ) - One of the signature dishes they serve is bamee krob pad see ew talay, crispy egg noodles fried dry with a mixture of seafood. Overall, it was quite tasty, and Nomadic Matt and I both thought that this was the highlight dish of the meat. Radna moo sen yai ) - The dish that they are most known for, and the dish thats in their name, is the radna, a dish of flat wide rice noodles, which are combined with thick gravy, pork, and kailan. For me it was a little on the sweet side, but it was still quite good, and you could really taste the smokiness of the wok flavor on the noodles. Pad see ew sen yai moo ) - Finally, we had a normal plate of pad see ew sen yai moo, not with the crunchy noodles, but made the typical way with wide rice noodles. It was alright, not incredible, but alright. The crispy version definitely outdid the normal version for me. Can't seem to register on Nomadic community forum page. Every time I click on the box to fill out my name it instantly takes me to another page where Nomadic Matt-Shirt Fire is on huge sale. :) Also, there is an article he wrote in which it sounds like hell was breaking loose in Vietnam for Matt. Maybe to certain degree it is true but it can't be that bad. I was shocked and absolutely appalled by the tone of language and expression. I think I am going to stick to watching Mark Wiens' vblogs. It is safe, sound and always fun here.

Rad Na is not something Westerners are going to like right off the bat. The goopy texture is very strange at first. I used to not like it much. Now that I understand the dish, I love it. Has to have vinegar and peppers and lots of prik Thai (I also put a tiny spoon of sugar and fish sauce on there. My wife always says taste it first but I always prep it the same way. Way to show how it's done Mark

I usually like Marks vids. didn't like this one because of his lack of manners. His guest obviously couldn't handle spicy food yet he threw huge chili on every dish. He also didn't ask if Matt liked extra vinegar or fish sauce and prepared it how he wanted it. I am noticing this more and more in his videos and I can't decide if it is his true nature or if he just doesn't give AF?

he is greedy, when food comes on the table see his eyes how wide and frightening, scarry, hungry they become, they cannot see anything else just focus on plate and he gobbles this whole migration ology is for himself, earning while eating, fooling people like he is doing a good job, he should be cooking. He should not tell ppl how good food is, because he adds lot of chillies to his taste

How common is English menu in places like that? For a tourist it would be impossible to even understand the mmenu in Thai language. Are English menus common in Thailand, or are they common mostly in touristy joints? Ps: And it would be even better that they had pictures of the dishes, because even English names does not mean much with some of those unheard (for tourist) dishes. :)

In the old day, most of Poh Pea Sod would serve with mustard. In my view Poh Pea Sod at Sea Fah restaurant still retain the taste of original (gravy should not be tangy but should balance between sweetness and saltiness. Tanginess would normally come from prickle chilly which would serve together with hossrandish mustard as a side dish for original Poh Pea Sod).

Thanks so much for sharing Only good friends can play around and joke with each other. However, maybe next time get separate dishes instead of sharing. Then you can put any amount of hot sauce on your own plate. Nevertheless, I've enjoyed watching both of you and hearing Ying in the background. The food looks so delicious

Mr. Mark, next time you need to visit food walk around Bangkok Metropolitan Administration office. When you mark on Google Maps, please use Bangkok Metropolitan Administration office as center and draw straight line cross from left to right for 1 km. and draw circle. All delicious foods are locate in the circle. Yummy

Didn't like this video. Just notice that your greedy when it comes to eating food. If your gonna have a guests in your video don't be so greedy with the food. I saw how you eat that one shrimp. You sit there bragging how good it is in front of your guest while he sits there not knowing how it taste. Thumbs down.
