Jakarta Travel Guide for Food Lovers: A couple years before I started ever making food and travel videos, I visited Indonesia, and it was one of the most amazing places, both in terms of food, natural scenery, and people, that I have ever visited. And I always knew I needed to come back again to visit Indonesia, this time with my camera. We only had a couple weeks, so rather than try to rush from one place to another (although Id love to visit many more islands and cities throughout Indonesia, for this trip, my wife and I just decided to spend our time in Jakarta to really get a feel for the city and its amazing blend of food. We started off at Bangkoks Don Mueang International Airport, the budget airline airport, where youll often fly out of when youre taking short flights around Southeast Asia. We caught a direct flight from Bangkok to Jakarta and the flight took about 3 hours from Bangkok to Jakarta. In Jakarta we landed at SoekarnoHatta International Airport, and after we got our bag, we proceeded to the taxi stand. One of the best taxi brands to take in Indonesia is Blue Bird taxi, and they are very reputable, and have an official stand at the airport. We waited in line just for a few minutes until a Blue Bird taxi came, and we got in. I had pre-booked an Airbnb apartment to stay in, so we took a taxi directly there, located in the heart of Jakarta, in the Mangga Besar area of Jakarta. The taxi ride took probably about 45 minutes and it cost a total of 135, 000 IDR (10. 22) - this is a similar price that you would pay for a taxi from the Jakarta international airport to the center of the city. After checking in, we really didnt know what we were doing or where we were, but both Ying and I were hungry. So we took a walk down Mangga Besar road. I didnt know the area was famous for Chinese street food, but we found a number of tents selling Indonesian Chinese street food. We were both so hungry that we stopped at a place called Sin Moy Kong Chinese Food. The food was all Chinese, and even though the menu was all in Bahasa Indonesia, I managed to order a few dishes. The food was alright, and our total bill for everything came to 189, 000 IDR (14. 31. Many more Indonesian street food videos coming soon Jakarta Travel Guide of Food Lovers

Therefore, if you visit jakarta again, we will take you around to many good food places you have never tried before. Please do send an email to my husband's email address: rustandi. suhendra19gmail. com prior coming to jakarta. Thank you. Regards, Suhendra and Maya

I'm wondering if he and his wife ever got serious food poisoned from eating street food in all different countries. I'm not talking about any specific countries but tourists can more easily get food-poisoned from street food if you didn't grow up with the same germs/water and built immunity, right?

Mark and Ying, I would love to know how much rent you pay for your place in Bangkok? How many bedrooms do you have? Are you near any street food stands? That white dog is so cute I am thanking you in advance for the information.

Sorry to say, but I Think u got ripped off at the restaurant. 4 dishes and since it didn't have prawns or seafood that would make it more expensive the price shouldn't have been that high for a road side stall.

since we know that you addicted to sambal, you must go to Banyuwangi, East Java, ID and try Sego Tempong, tempong is Osingnese (Banyuwangi natives) words for slapped. a slapped sense when you eat the sambal
