On Day 6 in Bhutan we had a Bhutanese Chinese meal for lunch, then visited some attractions in Thimphu, and finished the day with an amazing traditional Bhutanese food meal at Simply Bhutan. Zombala 2 Restaurant - This restaurant is located right in the heart of Thimphu and they serve some very unique and quite delicious Indian Bhutanese Chinese food. The fried rice in particular was quite impressively good. Buddha Point - One of the famous attractions in Thimphu is visiting Buddha Point. The views from up on the mountain were wonderful. We then took a short hike. Bhutan Takin Preserve - Another interesting attraction you can visit in Thimphu is the Bhutan Takin Preserve. I had never seen a takin before, but there were very cool to see. Simply Bhutan - For dinner we went to a traditional Bhutanese food restaurant called Simply Bhutan. The restaurant is set up as a traditional cultural house and you can walk around and do various activities. The highlight is the traditional Bhutanese food and they served a huge amount spread of traditional dishes. Disclosure: It was an honor to be invited by MyBhutan to visit Bhutan to explore Bhutanese food and culture. Thank you to MyBhutan Productions for making my trip and this video possible Do you want to explore Bhutanese cuisine in Bhutan? Go to to book your exclusive food tour with MyBhutan

when I knew that you are releasing a Bhutan series I was head over heels and very excited to see that country since I have read and heard about it a lot but I have to say that after watching 6 episodes from the Bhutan series I am very disappointed all I was able to see and learn about that country from your videos was food and restaurants I didn't even got to see the life, streets are you telling me that all there is to see there is that one street and that main square? Or was it that all you were allowed to film during your trip or was it that all you were permitted to include in your videos since you had to get these videos approved by the Bhutanese government before releasing them? anyway was expecting much more other than the food I wanted to see the life and the people and the streets, I hope you bare this in mind on your future trips

Thanks so much for providing this window into different worlds via a medium that anyone - regardless of geographic location, status, wealth, language, race, or culture can understand (food) I am a bit too sick to travel, but your show and life experiences provide some unique travel destinations that I would have most likely overlooked otherwise. Please keep packing culture and cuisine into your food destination videos in your own style. (Also, that rice in the Bhutan videos seemed to have a reddish hue - what type of rice or grain was it) - Thanks again Mark, and hope to run into you one day

Been several times to this very special place. There are many reasons to vistit this country, but food and climate are for sure not amongst one of those. This being a personal and so subjective statement, I'm aware of that. Say honestly Mark, did you really found the food awesome? Hard to imagine for me, as you're able to use this word even for a can of animal food.

hey mark. why did you mix all food in one plate? you can take 3 plates i think thats not prohibited. so that all the taste of each food type wont mix and wont mix to your palate also. its not bad to take 2-3plates. after 1 plate is done you can put in your table and go get another. its not that shameful to do. atleast if you want to try to taste all the good foods.

Hi Mark, could you share the travel agency you contacted for your Bhutan tour. I checked the list of travel tours for Bhutan but I am not sure which ones are accredited by the government of Bhutan. I heard that is a daily daily tariff for all visitors of Bhutan. thanks

Hi Mark, my wife & I visited Zumbala 1 at least 3 times while we were in Thimphu. Pity you missed it as they have the most awesome Momos (Dumplings) & Chowmein (Stir fried noodles. Throwback video (neighborhood-wise) indeed: .

Mark you do some great videos and you must be a very rich man to be able to eat out with so much food. How can you afford this? The only bad thing is that you allways talk when eating. This is very rude.

OK, that fried rice looked truly great. Some other dishes are interesting and the food display was something. One more thing, the young woman drinking the butter tea was really pretty: -)

That looks like home cooking in the Philippines. Very delicious but with a balance of meat and veggies than the Fiesta cooking. I wish Mark could have been to a Filipino Household. :)
