Its a market where youll find everything and anything - from a fresh wet market to shoes and cosmetics, all open air, and under the Ueno railroad tracks. It also happens to be a great place to sample some budget Japanese street food in Tokyo. Heres what I ate on this tour of Ameya-Yokoch Market: Chirashi don - sashimi rice bowl, quality is not the best, but it is quite budget

I really like going to Ameyokocho. I must say, the seafood donburi's are a bit room temperature, but I had never gotten sick eating it. There's also tempura only joints, ramen restaurants (nearby Ippudo and Mansei both really stand out to me. Food isn't the best quality, but it's at least on par with much of what you will find in the USA as a point of reference (ramen is definitely good, and for the most part, cheap. One place to stay away from, there's a all-you-can-eat sushi place. It's cheap, like 1000 yen (little more than 9 US) per person, but I feel it's not even worth going there.

Mark your game, but you need to understand the ingredients The mustard is is karashi mustard which is spicy with no wasabi so little is used. That is why they are laughing in the background. The main condiment is the other sauce which is like Worcestershire sauce which is sweeter. Too many chilies in your diet my man.

Has anyone ever just focussed on Mark Wiens' voice? It's a really interesting one. The accent sounds very Canadian with hints of US American, and a bit more of Europe and Asia I can't put my finger on. A very pleasant voice to listen to. You can tell he travels a lot with a mixed accent like that.

I'm asian not from Japan. I went to ameyokocho too. But one staff suggested me the sampling and i tried it and I didn't buy it. But all of sudden she staff cursed me so badly. (Since i didnt buy it? Idk) i couln't understand what he said but i could feel it was kind of racial one. It was so scary

Wow Super HOT an no beer. I could not do that. I am not a beer drinker but if I was eating something super hot, I guarantee you I would have a beer in hand before I took a bite to kill some of the hotness in my mouth after.

Not everyone can handle the wasabi but unlike the other people Mark enjoys every food he eats not matter what kinds of difference in culture or what kinds of place hes in.
