I love spicy oatmeal! I make it every day for breakfast, but much differently. So I put this oatmeal, paprika (it's a spice, Kayan pepper, and a few other spices i have no idea what they are called. I then add salt, a bit of oil, and wait for the kettle to get ready. I then pour in water from the kettle, wait a few minutes, put it in the microwave, and TADA! I usually make a whole grain sandwich with Turkey to go with my breakfast. So it's basically regular oatmeal with a bunch of spices: )

I love oatmeal and granola. I just don't think this recipe jives well. One pot slow cooking steel cut oatmeal in a crock pot would have been a better idea so that people could emulate it more easily that and pair it with a premade granola. But I digress. I'm also questioning why she is making 50 servings lol I guarantee they threw out the majority of this shit. Kind of hypocritical, healthy but wasteful.

Ok you old english bastards. let's set the record straight here. porridge is a loose culinary terms that defines grain or cereal (can be oatmeal, rice, or others) cooked in liquid, usually creamy in texture. Different countries have different porridge. This recipe is totally porridge. You colonialist didn't invent everything. China was probably eating rice porridge way before you guys.

-this recipe- for oatmeal on -Munchies-, right. Oh, she loves seasonal ingredients and the other philosophy espoused at the cooking school she attended, that's really informative and unique of her! A bit too over the top.

Too much going on; says she went to culinary school and went to a whole foods recipe teaching school filled with to s of pseudoscience garbage. Clearly didn't go anywhere where they actually teach good technique.

out of all the cooks I've seen I feel that this is the closest to my cooking philosophy. You make everything from scratch, meals are simple and balanced, and you like to build flavors with spices.

Looks awesome. I'd never take the time nor do I have the cash to get all those ingredients but I will definitely check that out if I ever go to Dimes.

why turmeric? Why go so over board? You are trying way to hard here. There is a lot to be said for simplistic. You certainly CAN over do the spices.
