We met Chef Salam Dakak at her warm and cozy restaurant, Bait Maryam in Dubai, to have her show us how to prepare a very special dish of her own creation-honey-soy glazed lamb chops. Using a mixture of soy, honey, and ginger, Chef Salam gives regular old lamb chops a kick by amping up the salty, sweet, and spicy notes in this quick, easy dish. Link to

If you add garlic to a ripping hot pan, it will burn and turn bitter. I tried out this recepy and that is what happened. The time after that I removed the pan from the heat when my ribs were seared and waited a little bit untill the pan was no longer ripping hot. I than added the garlic, stirred that around for half a minute and added the sauce. This prevented the garlic from burning and you still have that garlic taste.

I would never cook lamb rack like this. It's way too lean and tender for braising, specially when they're individual ribs. But do it with something like a whole rump or even lamb cheeks and it'll be fantastic.

She's like that Aunty who always make sure you are well-fed when you come over. You could try to follow her recipe, but I doubt it'll taste the same. Cause she cooks with love.

She's probably one of those Chefs who's so skilled she can whip up an amazing meal from memory and creativity and it'd be mind-alteringly incredible each and every time.

Hmmm. Any chefs learns that you should'nt press meat like that if you want to retain the juices as she is talking about. But other than that it looks amazing.

I'll watch any video with her over Gordon Ramsey. This is so nice and relaxed and made with love. Both the dish and the video. Please make more video's with her!

isnt she cross contaminating everything around her, including the spices she grabs with the same gloved hand she rubs the meat with? seems a bit sketchy to me

What a lying piece of shit, she said that she invented this recipe but its so famous in the moroccan cuisine that masters the sweet and salty recipes.

A beautiful dish that looks simple and amazing, you can tell how much passion she has for her cooking and also that salt bae technique was on point. Lol
