A classic trifle should be full of booze. My late grandmother's famous trifle was made with sponge cake, custard, jelly (jell-o if you're American, a little cream and so much sherry you would fall over if you had a second helping.

Great recipe, but jam? You couldn't think chocolate and banana, jam doesn't go with this, maybe dried banana for trail mix feel as well, y'all hiring?
