I don't like butter, it will send you to P. Deene heaven. Gym will not save you from butter. Fat free fake Margarine is fine. Lingonberries are bitter like cranberries, nope. The mashed potatoes are too soupy, people will cuss you out. Check Betty Crocker or Joy of Cooking for Swedish meatballs. Culinary schools are for food idiots. Learn from your parents or cookbooks. In the old days, judge gave you a choice: prison, military or culinary school.

I'm not expert in swedish cuisine, but they usually avoid using (fried) onions or garlic in their meatballs? -I will use them as additional ingredients and maybe add some reduction of white wine and a demi glace to the sauce, twisting things up a bit. -Otherwise, looks so great

The only thing I'd do differently is put a little bit more cream into the breadcrumbs and not use panko but breadcrumbs from stale bread at home, feels more traditional and home for me, but this recipe is still awesome! --Big love from Sweden!

Kajsa Warg a swedish female chef in the 1700 came up with -swedish meatballs- ofc they kind of already existed in England and frikadeller was well known as well here centuries before, but yes, Kajsa Warg is the -inventor-.

Pureed potatoes? That looked like potato sauce. --No. For meatballs, you either need a mound of slightly lumpy mashed potatoes, or simply boiled, whole potatoes. That's the way a normal Swede would do it.

Uh mince meat needs to be cooked through cause its from all parts of the body, a little rareness might be fine if you're in tip top shape but its a massive risk to take with children and the elderly?

I used butter instead of cream and it worked great. I also used ground turkey and it was still juicy and tender. A savory sauce recommendations: Heinz Chili Sauce and a can of cranberry sauce.

Andy Schulez: No one is asking for equality food. You flip the table, next week, the meatball would be delicious - kidding aside, thanks for the great recipe! Like IKEA, assemble is required

Hi, I'm from Iran but I hangout in Indian chat spaces. I think this nice but you should come to my country and try the Kufteh Tabrizi meatballs. They are much bigger than swedish meatballs.

all Swedes have their own recipes on meatballs. and for god's sake we don't eat meatballs with mashed potatoes just normal boiled potatoes nothing more. no one got time to mash potatoes.
