Sigh. Truffles, caviar, and gold sheets. is this really what makes it good? I see this as so gimmicky when it comes to trendy and expensive foods. Good food is really about culture, texture, flavors, colors, balance, stimulating senses, taste. adding these 3 ingredients doesn't accomplish much to the sushi - it's likely a distraction. Missing the whole point of sushi or nigiri isn't it? Expensive? Yes. Tasty? Questionable.

In the Edomae tradition. There are scallions and ginger is so wrong. Ginger generally belongs on hikarimono (fishes like mackerel, gizzard shads, etc) and even thrn, most Edomae sushi chefs just don't put anything on their nigiri except for their house soy sauce

It's just nonsense. Putting in high prices ingredients just to make it more expensive and no contribute at all to the flavor. Sometimes fancy things make dishes better, but not with sushi.

Never saw a sushi chef showing off katanas at his counter. I assume it's for people to realize it's a sushi place since all you eat is caviar, truffles and gold.
