Quarantine/Lockdown cooking continues and we're making the BEST Tater Tot Hotdish! PRE Meridith: I love you and your recipes. I love to cook and bake at home, but you've taken me to a whole new level. We have done so much more with our leftovers and just the WAY we cook. We think ahead a bit more. I think I've watched about 40 videos in the past two weeks, but this recipe was the first one I tried. I'm blown away by the amount of flavor in this dish! Um. I did add cheese to the top. Because. cheese. We've since done a few others, and have more on 'the list' of upcoming meals to make. Thank you so much for being such a positive force in our house, especially during this crazy time. Even my 11 yr old like watching your videos. Max. keep up the hilariousness and keep your dad on his toes! Good job, you all! I'm looking forward to meeting you some day when we come to San Diego. In the mean time, we're sending you good thoughts from Michigan! P. S. - don't forget the bananas!

Has anyone ever asked why chicken meat is dark and white and what the difference is besides the color, taste? One day my A&P professor explained it quickly: the primary mode of transportation and use of muscle determines the dark/light dark /white scenario. ie. a duck is all dark because it uses both it's wings and legs fairly evenly. flying and swimming, while a chicken or turkey's main method of transportation is running so breasts are white and thighs are dark. You likely already knew that but I always think of that day in class when you explain what you do with dark and white chicken meat in your videos. Thank you for making this American cook again Sam! :. naps

I swear that I'm not doing this for sympathy or anything, I just want you guys to know. I test specimens in a lab. I'm currently working in a room alone and a friend is allowing me to stay in his vacant garage apartment so I won't take anything home to my family. I've had next to zero human contact for two weeks. The stuff that you guys do has brought me so much joy. You bring a little abnormal normalcy to this crazy time. I swear to all the gods, all the boobs, and the world's supply of green onions. If I have a sliver of sanity left when this is over, you guys will have had a ton to do with that. Thank you.

What is it with all these thumbs down? What the hell you doing here in the first place? Were you abused as children? Sam and Max are having a good time, both provide humor, especially in this time of need, and daggon nice and simple recipes. A few good laughs never hurt anyone. Go watch Julia Child or top 10 weird things caught on camera and make your negative comments all you want. Better yet, just go clean your blinds or buff your bowling balls. Just get the f# out of here if you don't have anything nice to say.

Idk about the practically boiled mushrooms and bacon. Cool idea tho. Its interesting how unique his recipes are while looking like hes made this shit a million times before. But clearly hes just innovated all these recipes thru the years and makes this up on the fly. Im convinced. Dawg. He Completely threw me off with them tater tots. Who envisions this shit? It inspires me to always experiment in the kitchen and Hes made me a better cook all around.

I love your show and what you do but you lost this fatman at no cheese. I am finishing rehab in a nursing home from a leg amputation so I look forward to watching this show wishing so that Doordash delivered for Sam The Cooking Guy especially now since this place has just gone under lockdown and wee just have struggle food. :) I know, I know I'm blessed, I'm alive but a Fatman can still dream right: ) Keep doing what you do brother.

I've always hated potatoes. I mean HATED! Its s long story involving my mother and mashed potatoes. every night. with everything. Falling asleep into a pile of mash instead of eating it. And the worst part is, my wife loves them! But, I digress. Thanks to Sam, who I can't decide if he's really cool or a massive douche bag, I have finally found a way to enjoy a bit of spud with the missus!

We made this the other night for dinner, and holy shit was this incredible. But, to echo my fellow midwesterners, the lack of cheese was criminal - so we added a ton of fresh grated cheddar jack on top with about 5 minutes left to cook. Thanks for giving us ideas on what to cook with what we've got!

This is the 2nd of your video's that I an watching (scallops was the other) and I think you and your camera man are very funny. I love the banter. I am not on board with the Tater Tots but the rest of it looks yummy and I look forward to making it. I am now going to binge watch more of your videos.

I love your videos. Thank you for being so fun and bringing easy recipes that we can all make. I made your Popeyes chicken sandwich and the family went nuts. I had to make the buttermilk with milk and lemon juice but dang it was yummy. Stay safe and keep the videos coming.
