5 Delicious Pad Thai Inspired Dishes Beautiful Villian: For anyone who want to cook Pad Thai. Only thing you need is the Tamarind. If you have it, you can cook any freak versions of Pad Thai you want. If you dont have it, its just gonna be the any stir fried noodle. Because Tamarind is the main core of the difference and separate Pad Thai from other fried noodle recipes, to make its real Thai fried noodle. Fish sauce is no needed because Thai vegetarians cook Pad Thai adding soy sauce. Sugar either, you can use white sugar, but you wont get the natural sweet aroma as coconut/palm sugar is used. You can put any meats or vegetable in Pad Thai. Thats it.

I dont really think its fair to say that this isnt authentic because we use ___ ingredient instead of what they used Like, some of these things are hard to get in some places like palm sugar, or a specific type of fish sauce or pepper sauce, etc. I think the whole point is that almost anyone can make a faithful enough recreation from ingredients you can find at most basic grocery stores.

using tamarind paste is pretty important if you want that pad thai sour-sweet taste. to make cooking it even simpler, we always just put the dried rice noodle into the wok/pan uncooked, then add some water into the hot pan and it will cook as you mix it with the other ingredients. it should be kind of sticky and when you taste a piece, it should still have a little bite to it.

I get really annoyed when they claim these things are one pot meals but then you need to use a bunch of other dishes to hold the things that youve already cooked while cooking the next thing. I think a real one pot meal is one that only needs one pot, a cutting board and measuring spoons and measuring cup.

Thats a lot of sesame oil, Jesus. Also how do you find good fish sauce? I bought a random bottle once and it was, and Im not exaggerating, the single most putrid thing I have ever intentionally put into my food. So yeah Im scared of fish sauce and Im saying so.

I actually tried the first pad Thai recipe and it was really good Im from Thailand and I actually genuinely enjoyed that dish. For those who dont like spicy foods, maybe use 3/4 or 1/2 of the recommended siracha amount

Cooking tips #rice noodles should be soaked in water for 30 min before cooking no boil but let the heat cook that noodle in a pan so that you have a nice soft but chewy texture noodles.
