Growing Fall Crops in 10 Steps Garden Answer Skye: Oh my goodness, thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My success rate has been horribly poor & I realllllllly want to start a vegetable garden with my niece & nephews. I think it's so important that they know how to grow their own food. That way they don't end up like their 31 year old auntie & failing every time she tries. But your guidance in this video showed me several things I was doing wrong. Seriously, thank you so so so much Laura! I'm totally stoked cause now I think I can get a proper veg garden going with the kiddos!

Great tip on how you can grow peas in the fall. I thought I could only grow peas in the late spring in my area. I'm super excited to know that you grow peas in the fall. My favorite vegetables are peas. Could you please tell me if i can grow peas in my area. Our crop is usually ready by June and only produces for two weeks. I would love to know how to grow spinach. I have never seen anybody grow spinach it only grows wild around here in my area. It is the best tasting spinach I've ever tasted because it grows wild.

I have 15 pumpkin plants growing right now. Lots of leaves and male flowers blossoming everywhere. All the female flowers with the pumpkins underneath keep turning yellow and falling off. The flowers don't even open. I'm getting so discouraged. It would stink to have all my time and energy wasted if I do not get any pumpkins at the end of the season. Plus I found 4 small vine borers! Seems like there's so many ways to mess up. So many possible ways to fail. Hopefully I find some type of encouragement. :(

Looking forward to the cooler weather crops! Here in zone 8a, I'm growing numerous varieties of heirloom tomatoes, midnight snack and sun gold cherry tomatoes, sweet peppers (we should still harvest both until Nov, sweet potatoes, Seychelles pole beans, Honeybaby butternut squash, patio peas, carrots, zinnias, dinosaur kale, collards, spinach, lettuce, , basil, lemon basil, lime basil, sorrel, thyme, chocolate mint. Love the AAS winners, don't you?

So these pots made me think of my raised garden beds and our cats. Whenever I clean out the beds for a new crop, that fresh hand tilled dirt is like a dinner bell to our cats. Their like, ohhh Mann, fresh dirt! So I made a bed cover out of PVC pipe and chicken wire. I just lay it over the top until the seedlings are big enough and remove it. Now the dirt is not so appealing to the cats.

I live in Wisconsin. Zone 4 My little Square foot Garden is mainly planted for my morning green juice. I plant greens like romaine, arugula, spinach, Malabar spinach and kale in the part that get more shade and cucumbers and herbs in the sunny area. Today I am going to replace some of the greens that are bolting with some Swiss Chard for a fall crop. Love your videos.

Thanks for all the great tips! I had a question. You said that you shouldnt let the seeds dry out once they are planted so would recommend putting a mesh shade over my planter boxes? I live in Hawaii and my raised beds are in direct sunlight. It can get really hot/dry even if I water in the morning and at night.

I am taking the plunge into vegetable gardening. I already did the regular because of you. When planting vegetables do the pots need drainage? I watched your microgreens video already didn't see drainage in the rectangle terra cotta tray. Still not sure per the bigger pots. Please advise. I am in IL zone 5A

zone 9 I have yams, regular potatoes, two types of cherry tomatoes, a regular tomato, three different squash, three melons, tuscan, orange and green honeydew. I also stuck the bottoms of celery after cutting off stalks and they are growing like crazy.
