Tips for Planting in the Fall Garden Answer Capt: Hi Laura. So fun to watch you. Anyway, I just finished landscaping my yard and now its time for plants. I'm a single guy and just learning. ugh! I just met you watching your tulip video. I love Tulips, Lilly's, Roses and grass plants. However, Those plants (from what you taught me so far) are not going to stay bloomed all summer. excluding the roses. Soooo, my question is this! What to plant along with every thing to keep my garden areas looking like a garden? That's probably a long answer so maybe if you have a video on that you can direct me to it. I've looked but, you have a million video's. lol I don't mind even keeping some in pots. I have some fountain grass planted out front. They are doing well! However, I failed with my climbing rose. It started growing and then it just died. Help me! Help me. lol

Hi! I want to start off by saying I absolutely love your videos and I so appreciate them! You are so full of tips and tricks and knowledge! I'm in the process of trying to start my own cut flower business so I'm gleaning information wherever I can. I'd like to be able to offer different plants for all seasons, flowers for spring and summer, and foliage etc. for fall and winter! I was wondering if you had any thoughts on things I could grow for the fall/winter foliage for arrangements! I look forward to hearing from you!

What if instead I did not go for the super polished, generic, human created garden but instead used knowledge to benefit me in a way that benefits everyone? I suggest we plant gardens with the HONEYBEE considered first then palatable to the eye second. This balance gives you access to foods locally that would not be produced without Beekeepers. You to, can create a beautiful garden. friendly to honeybees, Hummingbirds, and Butterflies. these three species provide ninety percent of pollination and is our future.

Hi Laura! Can you do an everything you need to know about mums video? I planted some in the ground but I'm not sure how to winter them or when/if yo cut them back and what to do with them throughout the spring/summer when I don't want them to bloom until fall. I also have one in a pot but I don't know what to do about it once the first frost comes.

Southeast Alabama hasn't had any beneficial rain since March, we are over 14 inches below normal rainfall. In other words, we are watering everything almost daily.
We won't have a freeze until December if the trend holds. What flowers should I plant for the bees to have winter food. I need quick growing and bee loving flowers. Thank you in advance.

It's like the opposite to planting in Australia, planting right before Summer in Australia is really hard on new plants: . Even plants that LOVE full sun have a really hard time with the scorching heat in our Summer days. Would love to know what you think of some Australian native flowers too: . We have some many wonderful varieties here.

Random question: Do you have any ideas or suggestions for creating a 'White garden'? (all white, silver, green foliage and flowers. There is one at Sissinghurst Castle in England, that I believe was used by the family for dining because the white foliage and flowers reflected the moonlight. I was thinking of making a small one in my garden.

Great tips. I've been shopping the great bargains now at garden centers. Just today, I bought a pink snowberry shrub for half price. I also have three variegated Solomon Seal, but the squirrels have already been digging in the pots. I hope to thwart them by burying hardware cloth around the tuber/root ball, just below the dirt.

Hii Laura How do you keep track of all the plants in your garden and all the specifics of each plant? because I've recently started planting flowers in containers and it feels a bit overwhelming at times so now I'm wondering how you handle that especially since your garden is basically humongous lol

Should I bring in all glazed ceramic pots for winter? I live in 7B and I have nice pots that have the frost resistant sticker on them. I put a boxwood in one and a rose bush in the other. I know they would need to be kept outside during the winter but I don't want those pots to break!
