Air Plant Care Guide Garden Answer Wiltrud: Can you make a video about agapanthus and canna indica, please? Both in flower pots. I live in a country where it does not grow outside in the garden. In Winter it's too cold. I put them in may outside and in october inside. So they are only outside half a year. The flowers look always bad after so much time inside. Especcialy the agapanthus gets sunburn when I put the pot outside in may. The leaves hang down and get almost white from the sun. Before, they had green leaves. But every year again happens the same. And especially the agapanthus has less or no flowers ( I have one with bright blue flowers and one with dark blue. I know they need pressure on the roots to bloom, but they grow not fast. Maybe I should use more fertilizer. And the orange canna ist small and should grow taller and have more flowers.

I just ordered from Etsy a Tillandsia Streptophylla, or what's known as a linguini plant. I was astonished to learn this plant doesn't need soil to grow, so I've invested a lot of time learning about air plants. I have a container filled with decorative rocks and another outside for my plant to catch morning sunlight and humidity. It's like preparing for a guest, which, I suppose, it's just that. Thank you for your information.

OMG! I am so glad I watched this video. I just got couple of air plants and today I was looking for something to display it on and of course I choose the only thing I can't use! Yup, a decorative copper egg cup! I jumped up and took my air plant out right away! Thank you so much for the video. I would have killed my air plant and would have never known how I was able to kill something so easy to care for!

I. Just killed my biggest, I guess I didn't let it drain after I soaked it enough. It shriveled up and the bottom turned black. I'm so sad. I have another large one but it's not black but shriveling. I don't really know what I'm doing. I either over water or under and don't know which. I do this with all my plants. They grow nice for a year or so then decide to die and I don't change anything. Ugh

I was just given an air plant by a friend that I have not heard from in months. I contact her, but she rarely replies back. I am convinced that she is punishing me, just like my brother and sister did when they gave me Visa gift cards (i. e, the equivalent of receiving currency from either a country that no longer exists or that I'm forbidden from ever visiting.

Hello! Thanks for your video! I wanted to ask, I'm looking to revive my airplant which is very dehydrated. I already placed it overnight and it did uncurl but still looking a bit brown but definitely more green than yesterday! Do you recommend me leaving it in the water until it's much greener? What do you recommend? Thanks!
reply

I guess I killed mine because I totally forgot to water it. I live in a rather humid area but I keep forgetting to water it. I would water it when I would water my snake plants because I thought they didn't require that much care. I can still see some tips of the foliage green but I don't think I can recover it.

I picked one of these up at Walmart today. I've never seen or heard of them before but I noticed the display and I got one. The one I have reminds me of the top of a pineapple. I just sat it in with my cactus and succulent pot. I got a hyacinth too I am new to the plant world but I am enjoying it

In Houston I spotted quite a few small air plants growing on some oaks downtown. I was tempted to snag a couple of them but decided to just leave them alone. I love them. One of them had a small flower spike but I had missed the show. it was done. They are some really neat creatures.
