Hi Laura, I live in Southern Nevada, zone 9, and it sounds like the same soil issues that you experience. My husband puts ironite 1-0-1 in the lawn a few times a year and I just fertilize with miracle grow every other month. It seems to work except for areas that dont get as much sun which tend to get hard and mushy at the same time. I know thats weird sounding but you described it perfect! Im going to try the products you recommended to see if I can get the ground to become growth friendly Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience!

I love your videos Laura. Because of your recommendation of Espoma products, I decided to go totally Espoma this year. For my shrubs, plants, flowers, vegetables, yard if am following the Espoma plan. I am using all four of the yard products on the recommended applications. I am looking forward to seeing how they work. I am trying for a really lush St. Augustine Grass here in East Texas. I appreciate all of your help in my yard. I am amazed at your knowledge and energy! Hope everything is going good with the new baby.

Now I have spreader envy! We just bought 5 acres in sandy/alluvial soil, so I m ctually looking forward to geeking out on the soil test results. I also started following The Lawn Guy you recommended a few videos back, he really knows his stuff! Question for Aaron: which would be better for fast greening up milorganite or humic acid? Already put down pre-emergent back in late Feb and just put down starter on Sunday. Love the drone shots, guys! The Versailles garden will always be my favorite!

Thanks for sharing your grass schedule. The lawn pics from last August look beautiful! I always thought in order to keep your grass really green like that, that you had to feed them once a month or something! Your schedule is a lot more doable. Thanks for the tips with the gypsum. I may try that with our clay soil as our front yard is not looking so good. Kind of patchy.

Very informative like always! Thanks Laura!
My lawn is manly weeds and I have a lot of work in the yard because it was completely neglected. For 2 years we had a lot of time but no money and now we need to pay our credit cards so the yard will be the very last thing to work on and it's very unfortunate but it is what it is! So for now I enjoy your garden! Thank you!

Hi Laura, I just started to work on my yard. My Grass is dead, I have bermuda grass and don't know where to start. What do you recommend I use to winterize bermuda grass? Also, to make it look nice for the spring? I live in Texas so the the heat is very extreme not to mention my home has no rest from the sun. Love your videos, greetings from San Antonio!

Does Espoma company offer any help with questions on what to put on lawns in different parts of the country? We live in Florida; the lawn treatment company is dumping so many chemicals on our lawn. Herbicides, Pesticides, Anti-fungal and a treatment for ants and cinch bugs. If I could, I would like to get away from the nasty chemicals.

Not grass seed yet, I may do clover, but with the yard I'm getting started last fall I had a huge pile of composted manure delivered (nearly $300, spread it everywhere, let it winter over. When I went to dig my first hole this year, I couldn't believe how much the soil had changed for the better. I love it when something works!

My lawn needs some SERIOUS help. I live in southwest MI (close to Lake MI, so we have a lot of sand (and not a lot of soil) that grows mostly weeds. :( I also live in the woods so we have a lot of moss all over the ground. On top of that, we are over-run with moles and voles (among lots of other wildlife, which I LOVE. It's hopeless. :(
