Cleaning Out Window Boxes and a Walk Around Town Garden Answer Bonnie: Hello again i want to talk about grasses i grew some lemon grass this year because it helps to fight inflamation in the body i suffer from arthritis bad to my surprise it grew to be 6 foot tall with beautiful purple stems or base and so many people stopped to ask what it was which lead to me making an edible arrangement for my first time i become so inspired i am going to try this next year with all of my food garden I dont have a yard or much of one i should say so i grow all my food in large container s on a 2 car parking pad here at my home in the city Growing the plants closer together in the arrangement even helped to shade the soil during the heat of the summer so i did not have to water as much and i got more food some the same amount of space and the plants even seemed healthier Do you grow lemon grass? it can be a bit tricky getting it started from seed but i found if i start it indoors early like January and dont cover the seeds i had better luck with it and i think i will add some to my front yard next year as an ornamental plants Thank you for another great video and please keep filming that little angle of yours he is growing so fast

I had the same issue with my window boxes. Granted, it was the first time for me ever doing them but the one by the living room (which is bigger) did not do well and the smaller one by my bedroom did better. I found that so odd because they are in the shade and I chose begonias and superbells. The superbells were a recommendation by someone who told me they are full sun but do well in shade. And if anything, the bigger box gets a little bit more sun through the afternoon. Really confusing. Hopefully I (and they) do better next year.

Oh My! this was a fun video to watch, the cleanup part is not really my favorite but the end result is always rewarding, watching Russell play as you were trying to plant the grasses was fun, and taking a walk through your town with Benjamin was so much fun, my goodness he just is the most adorable little boy, it is fun to watch him grow, thank you so much for a really fun and informative video, looking forward to the next one.

Wow, such a change to the norm a day in the life of a gardening Mum as we say in the UK. I loved this video. Thanks for taking us with you on your walk. Also loved seeing your gardening updates. I must say that since you've had Benjamin we have not been disappointedwith the continued updates, it must be such hard work with a little one but again I would like to thank you for keep up the massive hard work you are doing. I have a garden center on my back patio but I got my Garden Answer video in. Watched Laura plant. Still need to plant. GA always makes me feel good about digging out the things I don't like. Throw out the bad coffee. Love the Japanese forest grass. We are under planting that next year in a few shady spots. In the blink of an eye Benjamin will have his own shovel and be right next to you helping.

First of all. Loved the video. Loved how personal the video was, with the baby and a walk through the neighborhood. Second. Your hair, I think this color is the best on you! So so pretty! Last. Those trees. That was a beautiful drive way with all the yellow trees and leaves. What were they called again? And yes you should totally line your home with those!

Hi Laura, could you please give your source for your vegetable garden gravel? I know you said it is 3/4 chip in blue but am having a difficult time finding some that looks similar. Dont live super close but would be willing to pay shipping if its not crazy expensive. My local gravel source does not have pretty rock that doesn't look desert-y. Thanks

Russell is just like my cat, always so helpful! Not! But adorable nonetheless. Hakonechloa is something that really has grown on me probably because it is such a nice complement to hostas which I love. Some bright red or even chartreuse heucheras would look pretty in that bed as well. I'm totally using the pinecones in the window box idea!

WOW! God sure can paint some beautiful things, those trees were so pretty! Enjoyed seeing the little guy in your video and the houses too! I do have a question. What's the burlap for in the fountain? Your place is just wonderful to look at. Thanks for the video. God's blessings for you and your family. Teresa
