Planting Ginger, Reseeding Patchy Grass, and Fixing a Boxwood Hedge! Goofy: I'm enjoying your site. I have been sharing them with others. I working on my backyard little by little because of my disability. Seeing what you have done and explaining which one do better than others and the time it takes to upkeep sure helps me alot. so thank you for sharing your expertise. My gardener a few years ago when I couldn't go out there to work on it and grass and weeds were tall. He cut several things that he though were weeds. Expensive mistake but it happens. I now do my own yard with help. When I get help, I now make sure I'm outside or what areas not to cut.

If you go to an Asian store you can pick up Ginger super cheap and they are very fresh because they have such a turnover in their stores because they use them so much and were you thought the I was is, but you can get Ginger from there and break off the pieces and put fresh into the ground and they grow very well in a greenhouse environment for the winter and the stocks to the ginger smell really good I've never used them cooking but I'm sure they could be used for something

Ahhhhhh Benjamin is so freakin adorable! I love it that he came back to give you a hug. Thank you so much for the tips on planting grass seeds and using the cover, great tips! Im anxious to see how the ginger does. Good luck on the new boxwoods, theyll do great with your magic touch! Im a bit envious as your doing what I always wanted to do, but Im retired now and physically not able to do a lot of gardening. Thank you so much Laura for sharing your awesome tips and stuff!

I like how Benjamin isn't like most babies, he is soooooooo gentle with animals. Most kids are legit monsters with animals ( obviously they don't know better) he doesn't seem to pull on Molly's fur or neither did he see to be pulling on the feathers of the chicken u guys have down at the garden centre only stroking it gently. You one lucky mom

Laura, a tip I learned from the landscaper on PBS's This Old House with regard to pruning boxwoods was to randomly cut holes in the hedge. He didn't say to do it every year, but with sheering, as you do, the holes allow sunlight to reach deep inside to promote growth rather than blocking sunlight and possibly shortening the plant's life.

Never thought of or heard of using fabric cover for grass seed- thank you! We have annual damage from wildlife feasting on grubs which makes lawn repair a habitual chore. Will implement the cover from now on. Also the birds probably usually eat half my grass seed but this seems like a great solution for that as well.

Don't worry about your box woods they bounce back pretty fast. I had some 5ft tall and decided to cut them down to 2ft and they came back like if they were babies all over again. I also wanted to suggest why don't you put that glass green house you want on that empty lawn you have.

Great information on how the boxwoods are connected so compact. I have some Winter damage from last year and do not know where to start, I guess intimidated at most thinking I have to remove the entire row. I realize it is just a single boxwood of many. Great work!

I didn't realize that those were 1 gallon emitters 7: 47; I guess that's standard? I need to replace mine and was curious how long you water plants with 1 gallon emitters. Can you maybe share that information? I don't want to over water or underwater!

Matt Martin from GrassFactor has great grass tips/fert/chemistry things too. Been busy, miss your videos. Glad to be back watching. Benjamin is this whole little person now. How does it happen so fast? Love the boxwoods from last year too.
