Lovely video Laura! Benjamin is such a little cutie and you can tell how much he loves being in the garden with his mommy and daddy. An adorable baby boy: ) Your garden is looking beautiful and that weeping willow is so gorgeous! I totally know what you mean about removing the trees. A few weeks ago we had a tree removed in our garden, we loved that thing so much (we even used to put Christmas lights around it during the holidays) but in the end it just took up way too much space. We were sad to see the tree go, but I have to be honest, we're enjoying having more space in the garden

What a lovely view from your house! I love the idea of a stone wall/sunken garden area. It would add another lovely spot to enjoy. The blue spruce in the corner will be beautiful and add year round colour. Your property is spectacular and it's nice that the kitty can venture anywhere and not worry about traffic or anything. I'm excited to see how it all comes together. I did wonder if the spot where the brick paths meet the stones was a structure or something and they changed it to the stone.

First. I just had a tree taken down that was starting to lean on my house, same - I was sad initially but what a relief. I feel like we can breath now. And second. ugh oak trees. I vowed never to move where there are oak trees again. Perpetual fall with oaks. never ending cleanup. And two years ago we had acorn apocalypse and now we have oak trees growing everywhere thanks to the squirrels. What a nice garden you will have now! Cant wait to see what you will do there.

I appreciate your attitude toward replacing something if you don't love it - even if it's problem free. Where I live we have diseased trees on the city property in front of our house and we cannot remove and replace them without a huge fine - I don't understand the concept of tree hugging something that is literally dead. So sad. If they were on my property they would have been replace 10 years ago.

Beautiful and airy! This openness seems to enhance your plantings and show them off more. Your idea to use fewer trees and allow them to keep an open view sounds good. On another thought, will you let us know what brand of snap-together garden hose connectors you use. I am anxious to begin using the snap system, and trust your advice. Thanks.

That is a Oak thing, they dont push down leaves in fall, new buds in spring push old leaves down, exept those mechanicly taken down by wind or branches hiting one another on wind. We here have large oak trees forests, it is nice to walk trough in winter time with all leaves still on trees but to have Oak in backyard is maintanance nightmare.

You should be ashamed of yourself! Oakes are homes to hundreds of animal and insect species. Cutting down an oak ultimately kills these birds, not to mention those precious trees whose only purpose is to protect life, not destroy it as you just did. Think of nature first before your personal idea of a beautiful garden. What is wrong with you!

Would love to see a drawing of your property, Ive seen your arial footage but its hard for me to visualize! I have about 3 acres and I know yours is about that, but its hard for me to envision so many different gardens in what I think is still fairly limited space at my house. Im amazed at all you fit in!
