New Spring Plants (Hellebores & more) + Planting Containers!
video description
Oh just watching this little video gives me Spring planting fever! Isn't it amazing what planting can do for the soul. I wanted to pass on one of my favorites/must haves for working in the garden. I noticed that you often wear a cute pair of vans shoes when working in the garden and your sweet little man in his tennis shoes playing in the water made me think that you both would love a pair of Bogs to wear. I am on my second pair of Bogs. I used to wear old tennis shoes and my feet would be filthy, wet and cold by the end of the day out in the garden. Now I slip on my Bogs and my feet remain dry and warm. They are my go-to and a definite must.

Your project turned out great. sweet early springtime! Those topiaries were so gorgeous. Personally, I wouldve just taken out the red berries and planted the new plants at their base (assuming there was enough soil for that. I always have a challenge after Christmas to continue with winter decorating before it seems legitimate to add in spring bloomers. Usually, my solution is just to (as a Visine ads used to say) get the red out. I love watching your videos and getting ideas from you!
P. S. I love your hair color with a touch of reddish auburn to it!

Do you have any advice for spring potted plants that are annuals for zone 6a? I love the hellebores but I live in a north-facing apartment that just has a small patio, so I would feel bad getting rid if perennials every year. We also have the occasional rabbit come by so pansies/violas are out unless I can keep them higher up. I still love watching all of your videos, they're giving me spring fever!

Hi, Laura could you clear up a question for me. Are Hellebores poisonous when touching/handling them? Ive read that all varieties are poisonous, and this has me very worried. I read that you should wear gloves when handling them, but I see you handling them in videos without gloves. So it has me wondering. I have several ordered for spring. What is your take?

I love the picotee pearl hellebore. I have a bookmarked collection of all the plants I want to buy. When I looked up the PP hellebore, online vendors show a completely different flower. Maybe the potted plant was mislabeled? Would love to know what its real name is. edit: with a few minutes of searching I matched up the bloom: Fire and Ice

I've bought some hellebores, and we are also a zone 5. The greenhouse that I purchased them from advised to keep them out of the ground? Could you explain how you care for them in the pots for your zone. Do you cover when it gets very cold? Love your videos, thanks for all your hard work!

Laura, you said you don't wear your wedding ring all the time because of the garden work. Is the ring at 11: 41 the real one? It's so gorgeous! To paraphrase you: Oh, my goodness! I loved the fresh spring flowers but I was very distracted by the bright stones!

Hello Garden Answer, I have a question for you or the viewers. Do packaged soils have a shelf life? I was looking at your pile and thought how long can it sit before it becomes non-viable. Just curious! And 'Thank You' for another wonderful video. Dallas, Texas

Love these containers and I love how you head straight to the garden centre when a delivery arrives! Is there away to have hellebores flowers facing up? They are so beautiful but most of the time you cant see the flowers. Thanks for your video Laura. Xx
