Planting Herbs in Containers for Beginners Garden Answer handmade: So, I live in an apartment in the city. I can manage probably putting whatever I'm trying to grow in front of the windows so they can get sunlight. However, the drainage hole in the bottom of the container. How would I accomplish this without further ruining the wood-paneled floors that they have here? Preferably all of this and the most cheapest way. I am working with an extremely strict budget but I will have the funds to be more aesthetic with things sooner than what I know.

So, growing herbs on a windowsill so to speak would be a fallacy, due to the fact that the trays are only 5 to 6 inches high. I was hoping to start a herb garden. I could never grow anything in a pot as big as what you show. I live in a very tiny apartment. Your pot is so deep as well. It's much easier to buy herbs instead, I guess.

I feel like best way to plant mint is in ground because they are like perrenials. once they get a good amount of roots developed, they will keep regrowing every season. I have had mint in my backyard for like 4 years, and still produces nice amount of mint. This year i got like 4 inches long leaves which I have never seen on mint ever!

Love all this advice! I found a stacking sectioned type planter for my herbs and as a beginner had great luck! Each area could be watered a little differently if needed and putting the rosemary at the top gave it room and drier soil even! An Idea for newbies like me

I gardened once with my hair down and I couldnt stand it! Every time I bent or looked down, it was in my way and my hands were too dirty with dirt so it got my hair dirty as I tried to fix my hair. I dont know how you do it. whats your secret?

Thank you! this video was very helpful. I live in a condo so I can only grow plants/veggies in containers. Would you recommend the best types of containers to use? I've read you could use just about anything but I'm just not sure.

Ive always wondered if planting multiple herbs in a pot affects the flavor of each one. Do you have to be careful of mixing certain tasting herbs? Ex: do chives make the other plants taste more oniony?

The blue planter seems quite large(meaning tall) for herbs that don't get huge. doesn't it seem out of proportion when the herbs are fully grown? I'm a beginner and honestly am not sure.

Oh No! I just planted two blueberry bushes in a garden soil I got for my raised beds. They're in a 20 pot. I already used the Acid treater stuff. Am I in trouble using this soil?
