DIY Calendula Salve for Dry, Cracked Skin! Garden Answer ArtBySha: Hi! And dont you look so beautiful! Ive been making sales and homemade soaps for my family and friends (and retail) for 20 years. I started because my hubs had eczema, which have since disappeared for good. My son developed it too and his disappeared after I began using our homemade goods. I would encourage you to add Shea butter and cocoa butter. These are the miracle additions that made all the difference. You must melt them low and slow to prevent graininess (from the Shea butter. As a fellow life long gardener and busy mom, maker, cook, and avid hand washer, Youll be glad you made these wonder how you ever lived without them, I promise. Ps. I encourage you to use only therapeutic grade essential oil to steer away form the chemically derived ones. Do-Terra is my fav. Take care.

My calendula grows outside all year (temperate climate) and I have been thinning it out like weeds. Thank you for the recipe, I will be harvesting rather then thinning from now on. I like that they're an aphid attractor too so will put them amongst my veggies and roses. Have you any recipes for field Speedwell as it's coming up every where in my garden, such a pretty flower. Cheers from Monika in Australia.

This was a great video. Simple and straight to the point. No jargon just straight talk! Super. Gonna be checking out those links and articles. Thank you. one question I had was is it because it was grapeseed oil that you just went ahead and put it straight in the pot? Is it better to use the double boiler generally speaking?

So happy you showed how easy it is to make your own salve. My calendula has its first flowers and I've already bought the supplies. Love GA and all the info. Would also appreciate more videos like this if you make other types of medicinal things. Thanks!

You made this video about a year ago. If you see this, can you comment on how the salve worked (or didnt) on your hands and your sons face. You could pin the comment to the top so others can find your review. Thanks

I would love to make this salve but when I figure out what it was going to cost me to get all the ingredients (not counting the seeds) each jar was going to be $30. 00! I guess I won't be making it.

Hi Laura, that was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed this video and will definitely try and make some in the summer. I have no calendula here in cold, rainy England. Just LOVE all your videos x x
