Harvesting & Drying Peppers! Garden Answer Random: I see a stuffed pepper recipe in the near future Those bell peppers are just amazing! Mine are so little. I had to take them from my raised beds and put them into pots before a big snow storm and 3 days of lows in the 28-26F temperature range. They seem to be doing well but theyre gonna have to come inside soon. Ive never tried to grow a pepper inside. Do you think its possible for the fruit to mature indoors? Have you grown many garden vegetables inside? Id be interested in videos pertaining to that since I live in a zone 3-4 and have such a short growing season.

Hi Laura! I really enjoyed seeing how you string your peppers. Very useful! I think I'm going to grow some hot peppers next year, hopefully the Hot and Heavy ones. I've read so many comments below on ways to use the dried peppers that I really want to try it. I bought some Japanese cucumbers this year and they were mislabeled, too! Very disappointing! Thank you so much for sharing! Hoping, like others below, that you say/show how you use the dried peppers.

Over here, in Southern AZ, those stringed Chiles are called Ensartas (that's a Spanish word btw. A large Ensarta is sold at about 30. 00 and a smaller one about 20. 00 or so. I used to help a couple string Chiles for their stand. They would harvest or purchase so many bags of Chiles. Mostly, the jalapenos or Green Chiles are strung up then sold. Those Ensarta Chiles make the best Carne con Chile Colorado.

Sorry, off topic question, I have heard you say that your strawberries are in their second season and I live in a zone (3) where they need to be planted new each year. Is there anything I can do to help them make it through the winter? Pack them with straw, a cloche or something to keep the chill off?

In the photo of the raised bed, in the forefront, is that your Lemony Lace elderberry? The stem that is bare, mine is doing the same thing. I am thinking not enough sun and the question is should I move it to another location? It gets about 4 hours of late afternoon sun where it is located now.

Thank you for this video, very informative. Could you possibly do a all about peppers (bell, sweet, hot) tutorial video with advice for transplanting to the garden, pruning and growing. My harvest is not as bountiful as I would like in years past. :)

I watch. I learn. I'm excited about peppers. But I dont even like peppers! No heat, no spicey. I'm picky & boring. But wouldnt a string of peppers make a great gift with a bottle of hot sauce or fun pasta basket to a spice-loving friend? Thanks Laura!

I am curious how you use the dried peppers. I grew the Hot and Heavy peppers from Proven Winner seeds and they all grew like crazy! So many peppers and I would love to save some in a different way for use but am not sure how to use dried peppers.

Wow! Great harvest and so beautiful. Maybe this is a silly question but after they dry how do you use them? Do you just cut them up to use of are they so dry that you grind them into a powder? I've never grown peppers so don't know the process.

Watched a video on Hungary with a family hanging their crop all along and under the eaves of a roof. They make paprika. Favorite dish is baking whole cauliflower with sour cream layer on outside with layer of sprinkled paprika.
