Hi, i have been a fan of Amaryllis for a while and this is a first year i am trying to make them rebloom. I did create a dormancy period however a bit earlier in the year than you suggest (during July and August. Right now it is mid November and i have two beautiful and healthy bulbs with six fully grown leaves on each, sadly i see no stalk growing. I was thinking to cut the leaves so the bulb has more energy to push the stalks out but i am hesitant. I am not sure if it is too early and i just need to wait. Do you have any suggestions on what i can do to make it bloom this holiday season? Any advise is appreciated.

Hi Laura! Always good to see you, your videos are always spot on informative. I Pray the family is doing well.
So. 2020 was my first experience with Amaryllis, they are Gorgeous but it's a challenge keeping them sturdy when in bloom (it keeps leaning & almost falling over) they are soooo beautiful! I CUT OFF ALL THE LEAVES OFF MY PLANTS ONCE BLOOMS WERE SPENT! I have them in their respective pots in my basement, will new leaves appear? Will they survive? I live in NY.

Thank you for the great, informative videos. I have three Amaryllis plants that are more or less done blooming. I've read that I shouldn't cut the green stalks. The greenery is really long and leggy and is falling over. Should I stake them up or is there something I should do to make them stronger. I'd like to get them to bloom again, so I understand that process, but these leaves are kinda ugly and need some kind of help. I would love to get your suggestions. Thank you.

I find it helpful to know that even seasoned gardeners get off schedule and that things can still be done, even when you run late. I like that you give us what to expect, if we are later in doing things, because the plants may behave differently, if they are in a different stage of their life (kinda like people, when they are in different stages of life! Thanks so much!

Here in Sydney (zone 11) I saw these bloom in spring, and some people keep the bulbs in the fridge till mid November and then they will bloom at Christmas which is the peak of our summer. So it has always been a summer/festival flower as I remembered. So it's quite amazing to see that they actually grow over Christmas over the world!

What can I do, I think my bulbs have been planted too deep, they haven't bloomed for a couple years. They grow beautiful leaves but sadly, no blooms. I have learned that they don't need to be planted all the way down. Now for my dilemma, tje leaves are already up so, can I raise them up, or will it not let them bloom if I do?

Beautiful! This year I thought I was super late and planted 2 bulbs but I soaked the roots for 3 days (Didnt mean to soak for so long but life got in the way) and then planted them just a day before thanksgiving and they were about 2 1/2 feet tall and bloomed just before Christmas! I was shocked how fast they grew!

OK I dont know if anybody will see this because this is a while ago but I just had a thought I bet you she has that baby on January 12 because once you have a baby by C-section I believe you always have to have it so that would be perfect to have both of them on the same day just saying
