Shaping the New Driveway + Other New Property Updates! Garden Answer Donnie: I apologize in advance for this rambling mess of an idea but rewatching this video helped me. Plus all the over headshots( I love those. Starting about 16: 50 or so, you all are looking at your house from across the new land. My thoughts are more on the space behind you. For starters, at an angle, across the back corner, could be the structure you mentioned previously as a studio/flower arranging room type space. I had thought in addition to that, make it also functional for a pool house, and such. A changing room(s, a bathroom, a shower(maybe even indoor and outdoor. Space to sit and eat, kitchenette type thing for snacks or small gathering ( so you're not going back and forth to the house. Anyway, out front of that structure could be of course garden space but a pond type swimming pool. Something large enough to swim in of course but that you could also have goldfish and koi maybe. Not necessarily waterfalls or anything but something that could look like it was always there, a farm pond type look.
Now you've mentioned your orchard will go off in that general area and could still on either side surrounding the area. I thought you could mix in flowering trees amongst the fruit trees for additional pollination benefits(maybe) and asthetic. Plus if down the road say 10 years you decide you don't want to deal with the fruit trees for any reason, you have other trees already growing to keep the look. Probably more ofa spring event for most of the trees but still a nice vista looking out from your new front lawn, across. You may even consider raising random trees up on gentle slopes for additional height to add privacy. The slight hills, and therefore elevated trees may give you areas behind all of this to hide random structures for tractor parts, extra soils, etc. Maybe even a bee hive or two tucked in somewhere. The structures hidden behind may even be hidden somewhat from your neighbors so they eventually have a nice view too. Anyway just some rambling thoughts. I wish I had more than my phone to send pics of what I'm talking about lol. Thanks for the vids.

Please reconsider crowning the road as you have extreme weather there and a flat road will create potholes from rain in no time. I live on a 1/2 mile of dirt road and the flat sections have potholes thru all layers of road base that must be repaired every single year and the crown sections do not because it drains. See those ruts now, they will stay not drain and become potholes. Call around and ask any rural customer how they like their roads, crowned or not. Study Roman road building, they crown their roads.

Wow so much progress! What is wrong with that driver? A tractor trailer would have missed that tree ugh! It has happened to me and a flowerbed I have and I even moved it over a foot and still people run over the edge of it. We have a circle driveway and they back over it - it would be on the drivers side too - go figure! Does it not bother you? Love those beautiful blue (my fav) trees at the end. Cant wait to see them placed. Yay! Do you know where? Love all of it!

What a fun video! I really appreciate you and Aaron taking us along on your adventure, plans and progress. My husband and I are trying to understand the driveway. It looks like you will be having deliveries and garbage pickup drive all the way around your property. Personally, that would make us very uncomfortable to have that much traffic, and strangers, going through our property. Maybe we're more private than most people.

Hi Laura and Aaron! It's always interesting to see what you are planning and seeing the work done. The new dumpster enclosure will be really nice and I can see why you'd want to remove the raised bed in that area. It will look so much cleaner. I'm anxious to see the removal of the poles and the lines getting buried. Thank you for taking us along on your journeys!

For me personally I think its a shame to put a highway in the middle of it all, why not use one encirling everything? I think its kind of separating one property again in two, while your main incentive is to connect the old and new spaces, again one big chunk will be cut off. Just a personal opinion though. Still giant spaces to work with.

I love to see the progression of the new property! How do you envision guests using the new driveway? It seems like they would have a fork in the road decision to make whether to continue straight or turn left. Will you have a preferred driveway and will you install or plant anything to make that the obvious choice?

Im sure its all going to be beautiful. Why not get the excavator man, to make a bit of difference in the levels - rather than flattening your land even more. Look how lovely your water feature looked. How much land do you have it looks like it may be 7 acres or so. Thank you- I enjoy your programmes!

Hi Laura. I missed some videos so I went back. There is no dull moment with you guys always a new project and. Russell. After seeing the reaction of your grandparents cat when you were petting him, I have decided that you are a cat whisperer
