Planting Daffodils in Both of Our Parents Gardens + Alliums in Galvanized Troughs! Megan: Got a long auger to do all my bulbs this year, because you know-fairly new gardener here and you've inspired me to plant as much as I possibly can (in the already full gardens if you ask my husband. But there were no tulips at all! So I went to Colorblends, bought an additional 150 to the couple bags I got locally, approx 200 bulbs-so you know I needed an auger. Man, I couldn't tell you how much I wrenched my wrist hitting rocks here in CT! I know you warned me but I also was thinking it wouldn't be as bad as it was. Next year, we shovel (also because I bent the auger and its off-kilter now. :)

Hi Laura and Aaron! This was fun. Both sets of parents are so lucky to you both as their kids. It was nice of the secret fairy to remove those labels for you. I hate it when labels are used that don't peel off easily. I remove all sticky labels. Loved seeing your parents cat Cia (sp) frolicking in the tree above you. She's really pretty. Does Carl still help you? I haven't heard you mention him for a while. Always love Aaron's comments when you talk about bark nuggets. I call them bark chips. LOL! Can't wait to see where you put the tubs. Thank you so much for sharing!

I wanted to give my sister a blend of bulbs as christmas gift, but is it okay planting bulbs around christmas time? I didn't think of that. you mentioned it's getting late: D
also after your spring containers are done blooming and you want to keep the bulbs will you plant them in the ground late spring or store them and wait for late autumn again?
thank you: )

Laura! I don't know how you do all of the bending up and down so often when planting being 7+ months pregnant! You're my hero! Your videos are awesome and bring me so much inspiration. I'm getting so excited and planning on new things to add to my flower bed. I'm a new gardener but you've mad it seem so easy. Thank you!

I'm sure this question's been asked before but I was always taught not to fertilise young plants/seeds/bulbs when they went in the ground because it could 'burn their roots'. Is this a myth? You're always using fertiliser on what you plant - do you ever burn plants or have any problems to do with that?

I'm so glad Aaron also laughs every time you mention the bark nuggets, it's not just me! I can't get out of my mind someone's comment that it sounds like a g rated swear, something you might say when you stub your toe, oh bark nuggets. That image gets me every time.

I was watching Martha Stewart and she plants some of her bulbs in a broadcast method. She mixes several varieties together and then tosses them onto the ground and plants them where they land. Have you ever heard or tried this method? What are your thoughts?

My absolute favorite are Globemaster Alliums! I found them several years ago, and now when I get more I gift a grouping to my sweet friends to spread the joy! I adore them and children esp love them! It's like a fairy wand for their tiny hands!
