I would love to see an overview sketch or view of your landscaping. It looks massive. Its my goal to have points of interest around my yard. Id love for people to want to walk around and look at stuff. We have 15 acres of mostly wooded and would also love to create a walking path/cross country ski trail around our property. Not enough time, money, or creativity.

I know at least on my large cement fountain that getting the plug and cord down the hole and through the pedestal is no joke. It was edited out here, but be aware to allow for considerable time to get the cord down there. I definitely drain mine over winter and just simply leave the pump in situ, covering with a water proof tarp.

Organization hack for hoses. Ask the electrician you use if he has those big wooden spools they get wire on. or if he can save you some when he orders more wire. Get a piece of metal tubing to put through the middle. and wind the hoses on the spools. Then, you can hang the whole thing on some industrial hooks on the wall.

I am watching a series of lectures by a Washington garden scientist, Linda Chalker-Scott, Ph. D. Her approach seems very scientific and debunks a lot of gardening myths. I am wondering if you know her - given your proximity - and what your thoughts are regarding some of her ideas. Sorry that this is so vague.

I started my heavily sowed onions in Feb. and they never got stiff and long like yours. They are long and thin and lay down. I just planted them outside because our weather has been great here in zone 7. They look like they have died. What did I do wrong?

Love the fountains- that is on my future plan! Those Columbines are amazing- I will look for those at the garden center next trip! Also, I think I feel his and hers gators in your future! Ps. we could hear Benjamin laughing while creating the wind for the kite!

Your Kensington fountain looked so clean, how did you manage to remove the rust stains? I recently watched the video when you got that one new and it was so much darker in colour! Looks lovely though both ways, hoping to find a fountain for our yard.

Love the columbines! I must add them to my garden. Benjamin is so adorabletossing tools into the hater just like mom & dad. Haha, like most kids though he wasnt thrilled at the idea of having to put them away. So sweet!

Im going to try growing onions this year for the first time. You said they are heavy feeders. Do you need to be careful about how much nitrogen they get? Will it cause more foliage growth and less bulbing, like radishes?
