Haha, that little smile when you said the 28 degrees will pretty much button up the cut flower garden: I know that feeling! Toward the end of the season where you're trying to keep things as nice looking as you can, but you're kinda ready for it to be done. Different scale for you guys, and your two plus months of well over 100 degree temps, but same idea. It's OK for things to die now!

As you were edging, I was thinking I wonder how their dahlias are doing? . we had our first frost a few nights ago and the leaves are all black. I scavenged yesterday to get my last bouquets of the season This is my first year growing them so I need to research the best time to dig them up. I think you did a video on this last year so off I go to search!

When you talk about planting large shade trees. Which trees do you want to plant? I have a large horse pasture I want to plant shade trees in but I dont know what to plant that will grow fast enough for me to enjoy in my lifetime. Also is there a place you can purchase trees at a substantial size? I live in western Washington. Zone 8

At the beginning of the season I couldn't quite picture what you were describing for the South garden but I believed in you! Now it's all starting to come together and I can really picture the end product you are working towards. You can bet I'll be here following along for as long as you are sharing your journey!

I don't know who the person was that came up with the idea of edging but I could beat them with a stick! I work for a landscaping company and I absolutely hate edging! It is the worst job ever and it doesn't make and difference as it only looks good for a short time and then the grass grows in right behind you!

Love the drone footage - it looks for all the world like the Jolly Green Giant left his footprint in your garden! Can't blame him. I'd love to take an evening stroll around the garden with your sweet family! It looks amazing! Thanks for the deep edge tip - I'm going to give it a try in my yard!

Not that she looks it, I just am sensing another Baby on the way. I've had this feeling for awhile. Layers, all black, wide and fast shots. Nothing close up! I could be wrong, but last time I wasn't! I'm hoping it's the case. You two make gorgeous babies and I love this family so v much

I'm amazed that you're still able to seed this late in the season. Do you use any special seed? I reseeded about 3 weeks ago (I'm a zone 8, and it's growing so slow, that I'm worried it won't be ready for winter. And it's still around 13 degrees Celsius (55, 4 F) here.

I like the mulch on the interior, and I'd not want the grass spilling over into the flower areas, or flowers into the grass areas. It just seems tidier (and more on par with the other garden areas that are mulch all around the flowers) to keep the grass in the center.
