Planting the Kitchen Window Box & Bringing Begonias Inside! Garden Answer Sandy: Hi Laura! Before I forget, again, what weather app do you use? It seems to be pretty accurate. The window box turned out really pretty. Just and FYI, the snapdragons look maroon, not red, to me. LOL! When I don't want the bulkier gloves, like you used, I have some of the thin plastic gloves sold for painting. It's much easier to feel what your doing. I use gloves because I don't like the dirt getting under my fingernails. Benjamin peeking out the window was a cute addition. It was nice seeing Cheddar, too, and Russel. Thank you so much for sharing!

Don't feel bad about wearing/not wearing gloves! I find I prefer to plant and deal with my plants without gloves. I like to be able to feel everything that's going on. Helps guide me in what in doing, if that makes sense? However, when it comes to pulling weeds and other stuff, I definitely prefer wearing gloves (for the most part. The sensory input from touch is so helpful, though! Gloves block that and it throws me off too

The window box is just beautiful. I've never liked those cabbage plants or pink, must say I'm loving those, guess at 63 I'm mellowing. Noticed you didn't use the Euro scubbie on the window box, was that because they weren't that dirty, or did it wear out? I have a friend in England coming home for Christmas, thinking about asking her to bring a couple, they're crazy expensive to get here.

THAT was last November in zone 5? Right now it's April 13th, 2022 and I'm in zone 7 (Boise, was going gang busters on the spring prep and planting. and THEN as our last frost date of April 15th was approaching, it has SNOWED the last 3 days! The Farmer's Almanac said we might get one more snow in March (which we did) but he never prepared me for APRIL snow!

Your video reminded me to bring in my potted begonia before our first frost predicted tonight in SW Michigan. The Rex) begonia was in a container with a fiber optic vine, a New Guinea impatiens as well as a purple-colored clover that I cant remember the name of. Thank you for sharing your beautiful window boxes, I bet Aaron loves the color scheme too!

I live in Mn and this was the longest period of time that my flowers have lasted in my windows boxes and urns. They were gorgeous this season! The frost just took all of them last week and I had to remove. I wish I could plant, but not worth it. Pumpkins are out and dont require watering.

That window box is beautiful. That plant combination is so pretty. what was the name of the color of the kale? The gloves are so much safer. We saw a lady on TV that almost died from something she picked up in the soil. I would really hate for you to get sick. Pat in NC

As I've gotten older (57) I've noticed that the condition of my hands suffer if I don't wear gloves. I actually wear them for most tasks outside, year round. When your fingertips split, the pain is exquisite. Enjoy your youth while you can! Love you and your show!
