Having Some Fun with Dried Hydrangea Blooms! Garden Answer Amy: You did a project a year or two ago where you planted amaryllis bulbs and then added greens and hydrangea blooms creating a beautiful arrangement. I copied that project this year and cut some small limelight blooms in late Oct for that arrangement when they were turning pink in color. Its still going strong right now but now I know what I'm doing with those hydrangeas when its time to take that arrangement apart. I'm thinking a Valentines ribbon to start and then swaping it out for an Easter one later. Great project.

I just watched this and had to stop and make one! I LOVE it I painted my board black and actually used a black ribbon as well with mostly purple hydrangeas because it is going on a light colored wall! It came out so pretty! Thank you for your amazing and beautiful ideas. I love watching you you give me energy!

You are so creative! I love them all! My hydrangeas are all now the color of your second example, with butterflies. I may need to cut blooms off them off the plants outside. These would make beautiful gifts for my daughters-in-law who both have birthdays in the next month. They love handmade gifts. Thank you!

What a great craft idea! So often I see people cutting down their plants as part of fall clean-up. Imagine the plant material that could be used for arrangements or other projects: ) As an added bonus, there is winter interest, as well as potential shelter and food for all of nature's little creatures!

How beautiful. The large one would be pretty in your studio. Especially with the dark walls. I may have to do some like the small one with just moss. Wow, loving the blush ribbon and all the butterflies, too. You are really talented and I so appreciate you sharing with us for inspiration!

I love love love this! I have 2 hydrangea bushes that have their dried blooms still on them (one even still has some with blue flowers. Im going to make 2 for my front double-doors in lieu of the wreath I usually put on them after the holidays. Thanks, Laura, for the great idea.

So so loved this video! Up my alley of projects! If you get your hands on the MACROPHILLA HYDRANGEA CALLED BLOOMSTRUCK GREAT COLOR IN FALL. it could also be an Endless summer variety not sure but the stems are reddish and great fall color. Im in gulf coast zone 8b/9. does well!

Hydrangeas are beautiful. They were used as the flower arrangements for our daughters wedding some 25 years ago. Dried in our basement over winter and sprayed her wedding colors in June Ill try to get a picture to include later. What a fun winter project. Made my day.

I think Monique would love a set of these as a a surprise especially since she mentioned that they looked like butterflies. I like the details of the stick bodies & the different colored butterflies with the painted details. Well done!
