Planting Bush Clematis, Ornamental Oregano and a Bloomerang Lilac Tree! Teresa: Hi Laura perfect timing my son just gave me an oregano plant and I was trying to figure out where to put it. Love the clematis with the oregano that area is gorgeous! Aaron your choice of music lately has been right on. There was a guitar instrumental the other day that was so fitting with the video. I know one of your missions is to show what plants are out there, but that lilac tree is $199! a bush is $99. So I passed on the tree. With inflation I'm wondering if others are seeing plant cost increasing as well. Positive side note my husband 71yo and I'm 65 will be making our own greenhouse/potting shed this fall and begin propagting plants, YAY

Ive heard you talk about how the wood chips are nice because you can get a lot for a low cost but I know you would like them darker. have you heard about dying your wood chips? An ad came across my phone the other day and it was a dye made for that. It goes in a pump sprayer and makes them dark brown. Just a thought!

I was lucky enough last year to snag a stand by me clematis. Its stunning! And my absolute favorite. Mine didnt lull too much. And this year they came back huge already! Im so happy to see you with so many
You should try Peach Dalmatian foxgloves behind them. The peach with the purple and pinks is so dreamy

I love that you tell us that plants are deer resistant, pollinator friendly, etc! So helpful to us with a yard with lots of deer. We usually name our new spring fawns after the plants their moms eat. We have Phlox, Lily Bud, Rose Bud and so many more that have graced our yard.

Beautiful new plants! I have a question about the Bloomarang Lilac. I noticed it has a bamboo support. I have also planted new trees with these support stakes and would like to know if a person should remove them when planting or how long they should stay with the tree?

You said that lilacs tend to like your high pH soil. What about the trunk that the tree is grafted onto? To the preferences (for lack of a better word ) of the roots and trunk play a role in how well the shrub part of the tree does?

Hi Laura and Aaron. It amazes me how you continue to find such inspiringly beautiful new plants for your garden.
? What is your plan for the giant urns? My mom and I noticed that the globe shaped evergreens werent there anymore.

wow they all turned out so nicely! I was just recently told at my local nursery that lime green / chartreuse green tend to attract bugs like flies & mosquitoes! But sometimes you have to brave that for something as nice as the oregano!

Tried the Drops of Jupiter ornamental oregano in the landscape last year. Wasn't impressed and it didn't put on any size. Yours are way bigger, maybe you have gallon size. Hoping it does better this season. Suggestions please?
