Today's video was one of your best. I always enjoy sharing your garden, but today's video was also a good teachable moment, as many of your recent videos have been. I learned so much about what and how to plant where, color schemes to think about, making good choices with perennials to get the best bang for my buck. You make us all feel empowered, you give us confidence to try new things, and you help us realize the plants we choose may have a life of their own. Best of all, you impart all of this, not as the skilled teacher you are, but as a friend.

So I finally broke down today and bought a Cat's Pajamas plant. It's in the ground looking beautiful. Would love to get the other smaller Nepeta too. It's so nice when you stop to show us plants that are coming along. I miss the garden tours that gave us the opportunity to follow along with a plants progress. It helps me to decide if a particular plant would be good for my garden. Looking forward to seeing the new plantings around the H. Greenhouse. ( Oh that beautiful Mulberry Tree Trunk.

I needed this video today. The music you chose was so soothing. It is rare that I get to relax and drink my coffee before the kiddos get up for the day, but on those rare occasions I almost always watch your videos.
I found a variety of nepeta last year called Little Trudy catmint. It bloomed from April to October and I didnt have to shear it back at all. The blooms stayed bright purple all season. It even survived a late spring snow storm in May, blooms and all.

Should I cut back a struggling Nepeta or leave it alone this year? I have 1 remaining Kitten Around Nepeta. I have been trying to find a few more but no luck. The last one was struggling and I moved it last year. I really hope it makes it. It looks much better than last year but is really small. Should I still cut back or only take the few blooms off? Your opinion would be appreciated. I have Walkers Low that is going to town wish this poor little one would!

The weather in northwest Washington has been extremely wet this year. I've seen it before but many years ago (30 yrs. We live at 1000 ft behind a mountain and have received 75 inches of rain and very few sunny days in June. April and May had more sunny days than June has. I'm so glad that you are getting a good mix of sun and rain. Your garden looks beautiful.

I love the idea of continuing the iris behind the catmint. Iris have such striking leaf structure that I honestly love it more for its leaves than for its blooms, though it has lovely blooms too. I hope you plant iris in the south garden as well. In my zone 7 iris love full sun and we dont get as nice a bloom set if they arent in full sun.

Nepeta is one of the first plants I ever bought for my garden and continues to be one of my favorites. Watching the happy bees and hummingbirds enjoy it brings me so much joy and really motivated me to continue growing and expanding my garden. Ive learned so much from you along the way. Thank you so much for all you do and share with us!

So happy to see the chicken coop area again! It's a favorite for me. I wanted to see how the Zephrine Drouhn roses did after the beautiful pruning and shaping you did. Wish we'd had a longer peek. Are there no chickens? I was also looking for my fluffy tan namesake and for you to throw them some treats. Send some rain south to Utah!

The new varieties are gorgeous. Its a favourite plant in my garden too. Of note is that youre trimming the Cat Mint in a dome shape which keeps it nice when it regrows. My sisters cat decimated the cat mint I gave her by rolling on it, but my 4 cats leave it alone, but I have catnip plants which they rub on but dont destroy.
