The very earliest humans who were intelligent enough to figure this stuff out, were scavengers-picking at the remains of things more dangerous hunters had killed. They were also confined to Africa. where hyenas are located. Hyenas are one of the few other species known to consume the marrow from bones, because they have bite force-and teeth-strong enough to just crunch bones open. So, another very good theory is just that we saw hyenas biting bones open for the marrow, and thought -Hey, let's smash them open with rocks, and try that for ourselves! -

A SF friend in 1986 told me drinking cold water in cold weather causes the body to send more blood to the stomache, thereby making the heart beat faster which results in warm blood raising the body temp as it is pumped faster. That's if you are stuck outside. If you are inside, then heat the structure up and drink warm liquids.

I have an old framing hanger that looks just like that, from Kelly tools. The way I understand it, when you were timber framing back then, you would have a flat axe face to help notch out and cut your seams. Cleaned off the rust, rehandled it and gave it a good edge now it's in my go bag.

Ive had that bone marrow experience with Chinese Soup Dumplings. The dumpling are filled with soup that has alot of melted marrow in it. That coating of the inside of the mouth and that feeling of being Full after just a few mouthfuls, 100% true.

Bone marrow is tasty! Try the italian -osso bucco- dish - lots of bone marrow in that dish, it is soo tasty, and it is a stew, which fits in with your way of cooking. And something you could make over a fire. lots of greetings from Denmark

What? How do you not film the start of the fire? We see an ember and then your hands carrying fire? I'm going to assume the video just malfunctioned because everything looked real good until then.

Marrow is delicious but also has unique nutrients most people don't get enough of. I'll even grind my marrow bones down and eat the bone dust.

People look at me like I've got an am growing out of my head when I proceed to break the bones from my meal and start eating the marrow.

I've heard that steal produced before atomic weapons were developed and deployed, has different quality (better, than steal produced after that?

That engraving on the axe is the maker's mark. A blacksmiths personal symbol of his work. 100 year old hand crafted axe if pretty -
