we catch northern pike and grouse, mixing the two to make a delicious wild meal as we work toward an all wild diet that is completely sustainable. Beaver are surprisingly easy to trap and offer a ton of nutrients to the forager. A real staple item! Beaver is also great eating, usually very full of fats crucial to surviving long term in the wild

To all of the PITA/ tree huggers. I too am against the killing of predators. It screws up the whole eco system! The farmers/ ranchers do this. So their - slow elk-( cows) can destroy the natural cover that -all - other wildlife need to stay alive! Controlled hunts work, field hunt management hunts are a must! You - must- control herd / flock size or you end up with a devastating disease outbreak in all wild animals, - wasting disease-, and it is contagious to - domestic herds-, - flocks-, as well! So, yes. Hunt resposibly, fish responsibly. Maintain your - nature- and it will provide for you! Don' t and you will die! Eventually of a disease! Your choice. Choose wise! ATB from sunny Wintergarden, Florida-!

Ive eaten pike all my life. All this stuff about the bones is really people being too finicky, maybe eating too much processed fish. or maybe because I grew up eating smoked kippers, whole trout etc. so I'm used to it. Cut out the majority, cook it well, and the big y bones pull right out when it's al nice and flaky and yummy. Plus pike are such predators that they'll really take down trout and bass numbers, so you do everyone a favour by eating them.
And did I get it backwards or did you say you have road apples in your pockets when you went fishing? -

Those Grohmann knives are the best skinning knives around. I used the belt knife model for years on the trapline, the shape of the knife is well designed to keep your knuckles higher than the blade and out of the way of your work.

I was just waiting for the camera to go overboard. That made me realize how hard and risky making these videos are. Very cool how you did the Grouse! No thigh meat thought: ( Thanks guys!

If you can't eat normal bacon try turkey bacon! Maybe that will work. Personally I think it tastes good but I know everyone is different
