we carve off pieces of bear meat and fry them like steaks in hot bear oil in a more modern type of cooking using cast iron. The bear fat is very rich and provides for a complete meal

Carbohydrates are Very Bad for you. Your metabolism does not function efficiently on Glucose. That is Nutritional Myth. Also the suggestion that eating every few hours is better than eating a very satisfying filling meal of fat and protein is bad nutritional reasoning. Because humans use Gluconeogenesis to produce the precise quantity of Glucose required from dietary protein, eating every few hours can actually produce multiple Insulin spikes throughout each day (24 hour cycle. Insulin spikes cause arterial inflammation (very unhealthy. 60% fat 40% protein is not the -correct ratio. - 85% fat 15% protein is optimal. Nutritionally you appear to be doing very well considering living off of what is harvested -in the wild. - My opinion is to stop eating carbohydrates such as your apples. Sugar consumption is nutritionally toxic. The imbalances created are very damaging to your cardiovascular system. Bear is incredibly nourishing when well cooked to prevent parasite infestation. Humans need animal fat and lots of it. I raise geese as an easy to produce source of fat and protein. Geese eat grass. My ducks are more difficult to care for through the winter but I figured it out. If I were younger my home would definitely be in the Laurentian Mountains west of Mont Tremblant where my brother and I have a nice size chunk of forest and a lake without human neighbors. Living as a hunter is a challenge these old bones would not easily survive. I live off the grid which is a challenge in itself but if I didn't raise chickens, ducks, and geese then I would need to visit a grocery store to survive. That would be an ordeal by wagon pulled by a pair of mules. It is over 10 miles to -town. - My mini-hydro system gives me enough electricity to keep my 12 volt freezers and refrigerator operating and my cellphone charged up. I have 5 acres of hardwoods for heating in the winter. I plan to acquire a pair of minature Jersey cows. I can trade duck eggs and goose bacon for hay to feed my cows and geese. I grow perennial comfrey to feed my livestock. I raise mealworms for my chickens and ducks. The biggest problem is getting Iodine. Finding kelp this far inland is a challenge.

This is the single ugliest thing i've ever seen on YouTube in my life what the actual hell was the goal? To make us red dead fans feel like going outside and killing a -beast- as you call it when I have a 15 pound jack Russell that's bigger than that. Next time don't put red dead in the title 1 you're not a outlaw in 1890 New Austin 2 I own a 19 hand retired quarter horse wheres your horse 3 I don't think they had modern tents back then. Next time be original.

It looks like finding a place to put the lid of the cast iron pot can get tricky, especially since there aren't any real tables with plenty of clean(-ish) surface for you to rest it on.
Does finding a place to put the cast iron lid where it won't get unpleasant gunk on the inside of the pot get hard, or have you pretty much figured out a few places to put it that get the job done easily?

Full stop. Liked this season of wilderness living challenge but nothing has yet been better than Season 1. Season 1 just looked so raw and authentic. I'd also consider season 2 the second best of all the wilderness living challenges.

Watching you cut and cook meat all the time makes me really hungry. I always feel like I could go and eat half a beaver when watching your videos. Lots of love from germany.

I hope in the future season you can render the fats, and then actually have a bag of -snack- crackling on the go. that'd be a good energy punch!
