Wow I can't believe you even said that -. -- I've been a carpenter for 30 years, and I live in the Detroit area of Michigan! I distinctly remember when the Robertson screw drive came out! I bought a box for a deck. it is one of the greatest improvements in fasteners in my career, it's the only one I buy!

Salvaging the electric system, why didn-t you grab the DC side? You could have installed batteries and installed a solar panels. Which would have meant keeping the rectifier. I am envious. I have been looking for an old trailer to strip for the appliances.

One of my main reason for sticking with a square drive is that not only does it not slip. I can literally grind one out of any other bit on my metabo grinder, or belt sander and it works just as good as a brand new one.

P. S. to hell with flat blade screws, and I don't like torx drive bits again you can't fix them once they're screwed up just like a Philips throw me in the trash!

I totally agree about Philips-head screws. Down-under, I much prefer either Robertson or hex screws. They are much more reliable.
