Hand hauling the FishLocker Lobster pots in Bad Weather - The Fish Locker Jude: Wow, how low! People can be so evil. You seem to have taken it well. I mean I can see that you're upset but if it were me, I'd probably rage a little. Whoever took those is the type of person that stays lonely in life because of how selfish, inconsiderate and just so unthoughtful they are. It's sad, really. They probably just drive people away in their life because of the way they are. There's no excuse for that. There's literally no reason. I've never seen the point in taking things that aren't mine. I've never had a whole lot growing up and everyone around me always had nice things. I figured one day I'll work hard and I can have whatever I want the right way and it feels so much better to do it that way. I just don't understand some people.

Does this kind of petty theft become an expensive venture John to replace or more of a loss and inconvenience and what can you basically do to cover and secure your pots from this type of theft. Is this from other fellow pot fisherman who place their pots over the same ground that they feel is their area not yours to poach or will this be just from someone like Mr average out to steal a meal for the table or make a few quid out of stealing a pot of two and selling them. How can you possibly secure your lines of pots from other people as surely you are very vulnerable out at sea and must rely on courtesy and a code of practice and respect from others?

The dirty thieving bastards. I hope the pot thief gets stolen from themselves. so they know what it feels like. I honestly don-t know why you-d go out your way. at sea is right out your way. to rob another fisherman-s pots. a mistake maybe? .definitely not. as you-d drop it back straightaway. not cut the chuffing line and make off with maybe a crab n lobster or two. cruel bastards. should of asked John, he-d of give you what was in the pots anyway. he-s a decent bloke like that. sorry John it-s happened to a real decent guy like yourself

I truly don-t understand that. It seems to me it-s cheaper and less risky to make your own pots. There are some folks in this life who won-t do right even if it smacks them in the face. On a different topic, I figure you fish and pull pots mainly because you enjoy it and that what you take from the water is for family only. How often do you go out, and how does what you bring home way against your gas costs. Or is it like any other hobby, it-s the joy not the cost? This from an avid crafter. -

Great video as always man! Terrible to hear of the -lost pot-
Some people-s behavior disgusts me, seems to be happening more and more. Oh btw I have a question for you, you-ve most likely already covered it in a thread or a video but I haven-t seen it, anyway what-s your top 5 favorite fish (including shellfish) to eat? Would be great to hear em in chronological order if you could?
Thanks mate!
Good stuff as always!

What goes around comes around. These 'lower than amoeba', will get whats coming to them one day for sure, in this life or the next.
If I were you, I would keep with the homemade pots. Nobody will be able to say they aren't yours. Far too recognisable. And when you do spot some goon with your pots you handcrafted yourself, you can give them the pickelve beats -

I really enjoy your videos and feel as if I learn something every time. I-m landlocked in the Midwest of the US, so the sea intrigues me. Just totally gutted by the loss of your pot - in over fifty years I-ve never really understood why people have to steal and be destructive to others equipment and livelihood. Wish ya all the best, cheers, Mark

stolen pots, one of my favorite topic in Brittany. I can exactly understand how you do feel John. But not that much you can change unfortunately. The world is full of idiots, it's a matter of fact. Enjoy the well deserved lobsters and crabs those are well deserved and kudos for respecting the catch size the way you do it.

Is there a reason you never show the rebating? Form my experience the best bait was always the oldest smelliest fish available. In fact the only time I have been sick at sea was the nausea caused from the smell of decaying bait having to wait for several days due to bad weather before being able to reload the pots!

Lifting other people's pots is lowest of the low, zero tolerance around this way and everybody knows everybody so word gets out, plenty of pub justice dished out - You've got a big enough following that chances are somebody seeing this will know something, fingers crossed they get corrected.
