The Fish Whisperer and Lakeforkguy collaborate at his Texas bass fishing pond and he show's us tips on how to feed the bass from the bank. The big largemouth bass in the pond love to eat big gizzard shad. The bass will even eat the shad from the fish whisperer's hand sometimes. We were fishing the pond from the bank with a spinning reel that Kyle rigged up and reeling the shad in like a topwater lure. These pond bass got into a fish frenzy and were hitting the shad just like a topwater frog or a buzzbait. I had a big bass around 8 pounds eat a big shad right by the bank! We also threw some catfish pellets out and went fishing for big catfish, but fishing for the bass and watching them hit topwater was the best. Fish Whisperer, have you tried fishing for your bass on artificial lures to see which one gets the best response as a representation of the gizzard shad that the bass are accustomed to eating? If you haven't done so already.

ALMOST only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
Less fun without a true catch, land, and release of the fish. Nice bass nonetheless.
