Cold front here kept fish uninterested in feeding. Two days and two nights of warm gentle rain washed insects down into the pond so the little fish we could see were just not hungry, even for live worms. Water was still below 50 degrees, I guess. At least we could see the fish to about seven inches down the following week. I went to a larger lake and pulled first fish of the year out from under what was left of the boating dock--they remove the other dock units to protect from ice damage. When I ran out of live worms the blue gill were not hungry. Mid afternoon hundreds of minnows came to see me so next time I should bring a minnow net for bait to use on my DIY spoons over where the shrubs lean over the lake rim. Feels like it is going to be a very good year for fishing. Felt so good to yell Fish On! Nice catch LFG. Have a great year!

Just asking, looks like they is still allot of red on your fillet? Do you intentionally leave it? To me leaving it on makes it too gamey. It waste allot, but I try to get all the red off or do you have a secret to get that out before becoming golden crispys?

Hey Justin, when your wife said she could eat 10 fish, she was really eyeing yours. she should have said yours are in the freezer LOL. My wife and I love watching your show and your daughter is such a cutie patooty. She is growing up so fast!
