Fishing in college was a great experience for me. It wasn't until my junior year that big collegiate tournaments were being organized. After recovering from my back injury, I went and played at a local junior college in Weatherford Texas where I attempted to earn a scholarship for baseball. After a year, I decided to leave baseball and focus totally on fishing and attended Texas A&M University in College Station Texas where I went on to become a national collegiate bass fishing champion. After graduating, I decided to enter the world of professional bass fishing. in the next video, I will walk you through that experience and all the challenges I experienced. Hey man, quick question for you. I saw in one of your videos that you majored in Fisheries and Wildlife Bio. I'm seriously considering changing majors right now from Physical Therapy Assistant to that, but it would require me to change schools, move to a different city, and probably use more of my GI Bill than I originally planned. I'm honestly pretty torn right now, so I was hoping you might have a little insight as to what you've been able to do with your degree and how it's helped you develop a career in the outdoor & fishing industries. Something about the outdoors just seems more enjoyable than sitting under fluorescent lights all day.

I fish for SFA and had a FLW event at lake Somerville where nobody could catch 5 keepers during pre fishing. Come tournament day my partner and I found a spot where we fished for 8 hours that was about a quarter mile long where we just went back and forth on all day. Ended up finishing 3rd and qualifying for the national championship this summer on Wheeler lake

As a 70-year old retiree, I'd like to say that this was the most informative fishing video I've yet to see on YT, and you laid out years of information and wisdom that many learn the hard way. Great series about your life. Thanks.

I literally live within sight of Texas A&M. I spend every day I have off of work fishing in College Station/ Bryan. If you're ever in town, I could use a fishing partner!

What was your major? I'm in Environmental Science right now but I think I'd enjoy something more like Wildlife & Fisheries a little more.
