Research youtube on gar fishing with rope lures. I don't know but have wondered if you could combine a rope lure and cut bait to catch big gar including alligator gar. I would like to see you make a video of you fishing for long and short nosed gar with rope lures. they are easy to make. Do it in the catch clean and cook format

You really should kill your chatch before you skin it or harvest the meat. Not to mention you shouldn't eat the belly meat. That's where the Mercury from the water is stored. And all the other impurities in the water. If you eat alot of catfish. It's not a good idea to constantly eat the belly meat. Look it up bro.

We used aircraft safety wire to make a noose to thread our bait onto float under our float. when the Gar takes the bait the noose will tighten down around his nose and between it's teeth. the only way they got off was to break off. no hooks

I seen someone use just a pice of nylon rope that was frayed tied to the fishing line with no hook and was catching gar like crazy it gets tangled in their teeth or something.

For Gar use a frayed piece of rope with your bait or use liquid bait enticer no hook need with this process. He bites the rope and it gets stuck in their teeth!
